We’re legends, dude. Guys like you and me. When I see someone who’s addicted to smoking, I let them know how easy it is for me to dip in and out without getting hooked. Then I tell them that I have far superior willpower to them.
We just think you're a failure that can't stick to anything in life and that your parents don't love you

I used to be that guy since std. 7 until the later years of varsity. The switch from occasional/social to fulltime was some weird moment of almost 'forcing myself into it'. Weird choice.

Woke up with a moerse babelaas one morning, went outside to have a smoke and nearly painted the stoep with the previous night's garage pie. Told my wife "Dis nie meer lekker nie", and I haven't touched a cigarette since. On the 25th of November this year, it will be 10 years.
You know those 3am garage pies are always going to be a life changing experience...

Maybe a couple of gwaais every 2 months or so. In total I'll smoke maybe a pack a year.

Been vaping since January.

Gone from 3 to 4 packs a day to 18mg/ml juices and worked my way down to 3mg/ml juices.

Smell of cigarettes is still appealing but if I were to smoke a tobacco product again it would be a cigar.
How long have you known that you are a homosexual?

Fortunately we don't have a very addictive personalities. Unfortunately we have very overindulgent personalities, or rather that's what my hangover told me.

July was 4 years since I quit. I’ve not had a single puff since. It was totally the right choice for me and I’ve never doubted it.
My SO on the other hand, who was the one who nagged for years for us to both quit together, still likes to smoke socially which to me would be even worse than being a full time smoker. Imagine how precious those few smokes that are only allowed in certain situations or when willpower has failed must be. Constantly looking for those situations to give yourself permission and/or agonising about it before and after because you feel guilty. No thanks, that sounds like self-inflicted torture to me.
I am skeptical that there is anyone who is genuinely and unreservedly happy with any level of smoking.
