TopCar and Top Gear are two of several magazines Media24 is looking to shut down or sell [Article].

Do you still buy and/or read magazines on a regular basis?

If yes, which magazines do you enjoy and why? If no, why have you stopped reading magazines?

Nope, all content is available online and magazines have become crazy expensive.

Print media is dying, and even online stuff is a bit of a hard-sell. People don't read anymore.
They like to ogle at girls. So if you're wanting to get readership online, you'll need a dolly bird or two somewhere in your mag, wearing nearly nothing.

Food & Home still seems to be doing reasonably well. Popular Mechanics too.

But no - I don't buy magazines.

I buy Car Magazine every month and I'll probably be adding Stuff to thr list next month.

I like having physical copies around the house, it makes a nice topic of conversation and something to do while laying on the couch being lazy AF :)

Only DIY magazines...

...and random magazines when travelling (wife mostly)

I do.

Popular Mechanics and Stuff are my usual monthly picks.
I must say I enjoyed a new magazine called "Very Interesting" and despite the terrible name, it was a pretty good read. Lots of really short articles to cater for the ADD part of me, and some longer, more in-depth articles.

Yes, all the information in these magazines are freely available online if you search hard enough, but it's nice to have some curated content provided to you that one wouldn't normally read.

Stuff magazine also does well, but then again, them dolly birds help sell it.

:) Read the first two words and brain processed .... stuff magazines .... then shifted into second gear and realised Stuff (noun) magazine....

Indeed, I get my stuff off the internet rather than a page by page mag.

The Times and Popular Mechanics.

The post office just delays them and maybe one in four never arrive.

I still buy the Popular Mechanics and Lose It magazine, but nothing else.

Every once in a while I'll pick up Car Magazine.

It's a sucky one. My wife is the editor of a magazine and sales are doing poorly. I used to love magazines but I can't remember when I last bought one.

Prefer paper based magazines

Subscribe to Popular Mechanics, paper/digital edition and Linux Journal digital, no paper option. Seldom buy other magazines either paper/digital. Receive magazines like Veld and Flora as part of memberships or other digital subscriptions, no paper option
