Do you think she'll break up with me when she's successful?

The OP reminds me of the guy in the ad (think its KFC twister) were a girl smiles sweetly at the boy and he imagines them living together for the rest of their lives, having kids etcetera. Meanwhile all she wants is the first twister served. :D

My fiance was making almost 3 x more than me at 1 stage, had many fights as planning your 1st house is hectic, however she came to realize it wasn't my fault. Couple months down the line and managed to land a good position, now earning more than her.

If you plan on moving in together and starting a life with her, and you buy a place (not rent), then yes.....you might have a few bumps here and there, but if she loves you then she will come to her senses (if she complains).

((My money + Her money) - (Expenses like health/bond/savings/food/cars/petrol/insurance) / 2) = spending money

Then both have equal spending money and both can buy whatever they want without having to check with the other one or arguing about what they want (new hairdo/new pc game/faster internet)

That's if it's a mutually beneficial and loving relationship. Some people just can't share or love each other

So I been seeing this girl lately. We clicked really fast and I really like her and she really likes me. I've seen her everyday now and she seems pretty damn infatuated with me. To be honest I'm not usually the type for serious relationships but this girl kind of just blew my mind.

I've seen her everyday after work and working 236.5 hours this month means that I've been losing a lot of sleep it's really ****ing me up mentally, this morning she and I were still at Canal Walk 2 am, I'm awake now and have been since 6:30.

I don't mind at all, she's worth it.

But I'm afraid of one thing. She's a year younger than me and vastly more successful that me or my parents. She's studying programming and she even got a bursary. She has a Citroen C1 (new) and she's working as a manager at a cake shop (yes we make jokes about her selling koek for a living :P :P)

But yeah, she got some offer for next year by a company and she'll make more than 3x what I earn and that's just a starting salary for 6 months.

I'm afraid that, once she's successful she'll want to move in together, buy stuff together etc. Which I would love to do (eventually), but I can't afford to on this size salary. Then if she realizes that I'm a piece of **** making no money and have no future she will dump me for someone more reliable.

I hate to think about money and happiness in the same sence when it comes to relationships, but it's required for a comfortable life at least.

There's a good chance she uses the forum and might even read this so doing this is so risky. I'll probably delete this thread later today.

You can become the housewife :)

I was in the same situation as you, Swag. Met an awesome girl with a good job, while I was bumming around slightly. Found myself a better job and 6 months later an even better one. We are still together after 7 years... engaged and getting married next year. It is time you do something about your own situation.

+1. When I met my GF she was earning more than double what I was at that stage. It inspired me to work harder and go out looking for something better.

3 years down the line and I am earning more than double what she is but at no point was it an issue, as said before in this thread have an honest chat to her.

I don't think that earning way less or way more should be a problem. However, from experience I can say that a lack of ambition when your partner is ambitious will cause a lot of friction.

This.

Also, your mention of "she earns more than me and more than my parents" is a sign that you are under ambitious because your parents are in run of the mill jobs so you think you cannot do better. That kind of thinking will always lead to low self confidence and self worth. Remember that self confidence is a lot more than being able to say, yeah I am hot. You have to believe that you can earn her love with everything that you have to offer, in order for you to keep her.
Some self reflection on why you think you deserve less because of your heritage would be most beneficial to you.

Please note I am not knocking your parents at all, I am only analysing the language that you used, and it definitely points to a self worth problem that you need to figure.
