I ALWAYS say, wash my car PROPERLY and I will tip you….You getting NOTHING for nothing

car guard = begger with a bib
The only begger that pisses me off more is the ones that begs at restaurants and drive thru's

No, I used to feel super bad about it but they're a nuisance. I actually find them a distraction when they directing me out a parking space, cause now I'm looking out for cars whilst also trying hard not to run the car guard over.

Never ever, firstly as I caught one or two of them red handed trying to jam my Car alarm,
also sure some are lookouts for Criminals who do the robbing.

If I have coins, then I do. But, most times I don't have cash of any sort, but I am always friendly with them. They are just trying to make a living. We have an unemployment figure of about 40%, so getting a job is nigh on impossible.

There are very few car guards. Most point at parkings you have already seen or only appear when you have unpacked your shopping to take the trolley away. Remember they are not security guards and have no weapons with which to intervene should anything go awry.

You are of course entitled to pay them what you feel like. Maybe R500 a month would get much better service from them?

I avoid places with car guards. Sixty60 is also a great way to avoid them. Luckily there is a nice center with paid guards close by so I can avoid the centers with car guards.

I only tip if the 'car guard' is South African and doesn't look like s/he is already high on nyaope.

The car washers just urk me more.

So no supermarkets then? Or anywhere where cars are parked.
Groceries can be had at 2 large malls with covered parking each about 10 minutes away. Both have real security guards and the charge is R10, payable with contactless card or the Admyt service.

The main issue is wanting to dine away from crappy malls and casinos in real restaurants - Parkhurst and such. The hi viz kants thrive in these areas. We generally take taxis there so we can have a drink or two.

Yes and No. I do tip them for helping me out a parking bay. I have a smallish car and can't see around the big 4x4's or big bakkies. R2 is my view on the support that they give.
