Do you use the SA Post Office for local or international package delivery? If so, what is your experience?

only when forced to for example from bidorbuy but then i gamble knowing if it gets lost so what?

I try to avoid them. but I get cheap parcels from eBay. Many get lost, however.
must agree there, i use to order tons of stuff from ebay and lost 50% of the items.
buying local from bidorbuy seems to be better, a tiny bit better.

But if i am buying something that is already in RSA i always get my item from Post Office, i suspect headquarters in jhb/pretoria are behind most of the thefts

Last package sent overseas went missing. So no. This was 1-2 years ago.

yes unfortunetly.. ebay and wish.
honestly the most frustrating thing ever..
parcel one was sent from netherlands to SA in 7 days.. them SA post office 30+ days to send to my local PO.

Yes, we send boxes weighing about 17kg internationally via surface mail through the PO. Not sure I have any other option. Takes a while to get to its destination but haven't had a problem yet. The contents are multiple copies of the same book so not sure anyone would want to steal that...

Only when I'm forced to - lately, packages with tracking numbers arrive in about 6 weeks (down from 3-6 months) - packages without tracking numbers disappear.

Yes, similar experience.

But I have had a few with tracking numbers also disappear..

Only when I have too.. ie registered letters and traffic fines notifications.. will not order from online store if they only send via Post Office... to many items have gone missing.

Post Office is a last resort. I still have a P.O.Box with SAPO and I'm convinced it's being shared with at least two other people as I hardly receive any mail and the mail that I do find (apart from the copious reams of junk mail) is consistently addressed to two unknown individuals. SAPO of course denies this is the case :whistling:
