Been going back and forth about getting one. Don't feel like it's a R3k + worth investment though. I've been looking at the Letsfit watches on takealot as an entry level to see if I would actually use it. They have very good reviews and under R1 000

Yep, Garmin watch

Listen to the music on it while it tracks my training routine in gym (saves me taking my phone or anything else with me in the gym)
Great to see messages and notifications without looking at my phone.
Garmin pay is just an absolute blessing
Feel naked if I am not wearing it

Apple watch... useful for notifications, fitness tracking, Apple Pay, health metrics, remote control of other devices (if you're in the eco-system), media playback, and with cellular, you can leave the phone at home and still be reachable when out.

When I get around to upgrading I will get a Huawei GT3, works with my Samsung phone, and has a good battery life.

Old Apple watch... I originally got it so that I could keep an eye on some notification while at work, without having to look at my phone. The watch also ruled my life for a year while I tried to keep an unbroken movement streak going

I would love one for the functionality, they just look so cheap and tacky though - I have some analogue watches (2 Tags and a Rado) that I rarely wear - I use my phone for all the things mentioned above.

2 actually

Tag Heuer E3 as daily driver

GARMIN Approach S62 when I play golf but use them interchangeably

Yeah, originally Pebble Time Round and now an Apple Watch.

I prefer getting notifications on my watch - then I check it there and decide if it is worth it to even take out my phone.

What is the benefit of these watches? Serious question. Might get one if it helps a Lot.
Honestly, I already like wearing watches so may as well wear one that's high tech and does a few cool things.

BUT if you're really into your fitness / exercise, esp. endurance stuff - they're pretty awesome.

Apple Watch. Apple Pay is very useful. I also use it to track my runs, although the only reason I need to track my runs is so that I don't have to pay for my watch (thanks Vitality).
