Last night I bought a cloud hosting server from afrihost. I tried to configure it, but messed up. It went down. It hasn't come up since.
On every single vps/cloud hosting company that I have had a server with in the past, they give you the option to reconfigure the host to a scratch install. For example you can choose ubuntu or centos or fedora or whatever you want, and it will wipe the current install and put that OS on. I even once register a vps on what turned out to be a 16 year old kid in the UK's website. Even he had that functionality.
I can't find that function on afrihost. So i logged a ticket for them to do it. Apparently they have 24/7 support, but they still haven't done this. What is worse is that when I call in, it tells me to hold on that I am first in line. But nobody ever answers. At least telkom has the decency to tell you when they aren't staffing their call centers after hours.
What to do? Is there a better vps/cloud host in South Africa?
I want to migrate my international servers here, but I don't want to have constant trouble.
