Does airtime drain quicker than data or minutes?

To me it feels like my airtime drains much quicker.

Depends on your chosen plan and thus rate. On my VC and MTN plans it's set to R0.79 per minute plan and my airtime lasts a long time. If you are on some R2.30 per minute or similar plan your airtime will run out a lot faster.

I am not sure about my plan, since I always bought the phone without a contract so never thought about having a Data/minutes contract. Everything was always prepaid including airtime.

I'm without a contract on vodacom prepaid. almost daily (Monday to Friday) I purchase the 60 minute bundle for R12. if you make a lot of calls this is definitely a good option. I get 60 minutes to call any network for the day. R12 airtime won't even last me 20 minutes on a call.

I don't use a lot of data so won't comment on that. but I'm pretty sure you save by buying data bundles vs using airtime.
