Does anyone else no longer enjoy gaming?

I need to try Pillars of Eternity again. Clocked a few hours on it and enjoyed it, but then got busy, and it's a game with an intricate storyline, so probably need to restart.

Oh yeah, you know that Torment: Tides of Numenera is out. Apparently it is very good. Going to try it when I have the time. Tyranny is better than PoE in my opinion, not as open, but way better story and mechanics.

Bro, same here. Just focus on indy games which has your flavor. Its made for pure enjoyment. Same happend to me and the games that brought back life was binding of isaac and hotline miami.

Now kinda enjoying bf1 and dota again. But a lot less serious, it has more the feeling of an indy for me, playing it for myself (kinda like single player).

Problem with these kind of games for me is that, between sessions i forget what I was doing.

Mix one part 'getting a life' (e.g. a love interest, real friends and a career) with one part financial responsibility ("it costs how much????"), sprinkle with a little time poverty (chilling on couch > fighting for life in Nazi Germany yet again) and bake in the heat of wisdom ("maybe unlocking ALL the trophies won't make me cool after all").

Only thing I hate about Dota is the stupid mouse cursor.
I struggle to find the damn thing when there are lots of spells going down at that very crucial moment.

Not so much not wanting to game. It's finding something that excites me. CS:GO used to fill a nice void but that is getting tedious/monotonous now. WoW used to give me a decent amount of playing - 8 years iirc. Rust also around 3k hours. I just need something else now. I'm leaning towards offline gaming now, something I can put on, play and switch off again. But I'm really hard pressed to find something worth my while. Looked at Conan Exiles... same shyte as Rust. I think I need a new genre I haven't played before and it should be story rich. Witcher3 was cool, but that's done now too. Was thinking of getting GTAV, the laaitie has it on PS3. But don't know, watching him playing it just cocking about makes it look not so much fun.

I would love a nice Western type of game with facets of building, crafting, farming, surviving and so on. Even some Pirate type of game like the old Sid Meier one but more detailed and in depth. I need something NEW AND FRESH!!! Been spending hours looking through the steam store but nothing really tickling my fancy. FK FK FK !

GTA V has a great story. So does the Mass Effect series, and the rebooted Tomb Raider. If you have a PS there's also the Uncharted series. The best part is they all can be had cheap now...

Stop playing sandbox ****.

Play something with a defined beginning and end that doesn't take 500 hours to complete and you'll have a much better time of it.

I feel the opposite, games like GTA V, The Witcher 3, Fallout 3 & 4, Skyrim has spoiled the rest for me. You are not on a track where you must do A, B, C, etc. in order. If you are not in the mood for the main storyline you just go in a direction and see what happens.

perhaps its time for you to take up a sport. it is good and healthy to lose interest in gaming.
do not be alarmed by it. It simply means you overdid it, and your brain is now looking to balance life a little.

Eventually the lust for gaming will return, except it will be a more balanced life style

I've hit this twice in my gaming history. Now though I pace myself, game very little (once or twice a month for a few hours only) and I enjoy it a lot more. I look forward to my sessions and I play for myself. No longer play for clans or teams in DotA or CS or whatever, I just play and enjoy.

It also helps that I don't spend thousands on the newest AAA titles, but rather buy older games that were popular in their days that is already patched to perfection for a fraction of the price.

Currently enjoying Borderlands 2 to bits, and a bit of Dota 2 when I'm feeling naughty.

I'll second for both.
Ark is heavy on PvP if you join a PvP server. But if you're doing PvE you can take your time and play at any pace.
Stardew Valley looks stupid to a serious gamer, but it's quite addictive. I had a lot of fun for a few in-game seasons building up my little homestead.

I am suffering from the same fate.

I just don't have fun in games any more, but I have is way worse than falling down in front of a TV with mindless beaming.

I love nothing more than parking in front of my 3 headed monster machine after a long work week, popping some Industrial at full blast on head phones and start coding.

In fact just this weekend I scared the crap out of myself when I made an excuse not to go to a braai to code..... for fun!!! And no not making games... coding actual applications and systems I implement at work.
