Does anyone know when the blackberry bold is coming?

I must say (and you know I'm no Apple fanboy), I'm finding the iPhone much more enjoyable than expected. I've now got 3 of them in the family!

I definitely won't go back to Windows Mobile but the BB's are still more complete as a business phone. But, damn, touchflow really works well.....

HAHA, my SO is completely attached to her 1st Gen. How are the home automation apps looking for the iPhone?

I have just been told by Autopage that the blackberry bold has been delayed until the end of the month again because MTN doesn't have stock.

Do they speak the truth, or am I being given the old run-around?
 
stock would imply that someone got some, and as far as I know, no one has... i've been contstantly asking and some mtn sales people didnt even know it was coming, i had to show it in the trade manual.
 
Is the Bold available on prepaid?
If yes, do you still get the free e-mail and browsing?
I've been turned off from user experiences with SE X1.
Options I'm looking at now are the Omnia, iPhone or Bold.

From what I've come across the Omnia's nice that it's got the 2 year Garmin Maps, the Bold has BB maps and the iPhone's got a a lot of cool apps.

The appeal of free browsing and e-mail on the Bold (plus it's wicked screen resolution) makes it stand out. But I'm not sure if this is the same on prepaid. I'd prefer buying a handset and not being tied into a contract.

afaik you still cant get the BIS addon with prepaid - it requires a contract though even the month to month, zero monthly cost 4U contract will suffice.

Have to get to investigating prices on the handset.

Another question for you all out there.
If I were to get the handset from the UK, would there be any problems using it here?

I think the Omnia / X1 is pretty much the same thing. both dissapointed with their user interfaces.

Bold is probably best 'all round' device with great GPS while iPhone is still the best toy out there. I use both at this point.

Yeah the thing that's putting me off the iPhone is the messaging.
No copy and paste, no landscape QWERTY keyboard.
And a host of other niggling issues.

The appeal of browsing and push e-mail for free seems good though on the BB.

Sorry if I wasn't clear but you can't use the bberry on pre paid.

I was playing with a mates bold the other night and it was very nice indeed.

Oh crud - I mis read "cant" in your original reply to me. :o
I think the lack of the apostrophe, combined with my ailing speed reading led me to believe you said "can" :D

Gosh, now what to do...

EDIT - me being a bit off again.
So just one of the cheapo month to month contracts with a upfront payment and I should be sorted?
 
So I'm thinking that something like VC's BlackBerry Prepaid, should do the trick?
Now just where to get the Bold at the best price.

Been checking out Bold on GSMArena and responses there are encouraging.
Need to see if I can find a decent review on the handset.
Being at the office now, that's gonna be tough...
