Does anyone with a 4Mb line actually get 4Mb?

Router, sync speed? What are you downloading with?

Router DG834GT

Sync speed...must admit I haven't looked at it yet. Will do so tonight and let you guys know.

I'm using Grabit for local content but have been double checking the speeds with Net Limiter

If you are syncing at higher than 4096 then i would be interested... Otherwise microsoft can go suck balls

Hmm National/International & Day/Night (given enough sessions), I always get 4mb/s from HTTP...

Other than HTTP, I mostly get full speed after hours... During the day, it is a bit on the slower side....

Get constant 430KB/s on multi threads, if the otherside can send that fast
( about 80% of the time they can )

Could the people who get stable 4mb connections also post which exchanges they are on and roughly their physical distance from their exchange.

The reason why I am asking is that I read somewhere (Either on these forums or one of the articles on myadsl homepage) that Telkom will be upgrading their exchanges to ADSL2, even though they wont be offering ADSL2 speeds. However If I remember correctly ADSL2 Technology can achieve the greater speeds because it gets a better sync.

Maybe the reason why some people have got stable lines, or recently found that "All of a sudden" their lines work properly is that their exchanges have been upgraded to ADSL2? I don't know, I just want a 4mb line with a stable sync. I don't wanna go down to 3mb,2mb,1mb...

I am on Brackenfell exchange. My building backs onto the exchange so I can't be more than 30m away from the DSLAM. I'm currently getting 415KB/sec off the IS news server.
