Hi all, does anyone have a LineageOS rooted phone with the FNB app installed?

Read that some banking apps dont work well when a rooted phone is detected.

Reason why I want to do this, I have a Samsung S5 that I love dearly but jesus christ it gets so slow. I really want a nice flagship phone but i cant afford it on prepaid so ill just have to settle with this for now.

Thanks.

Had no problem running fnb app on cyanogen roms.
Biometrics didn't work on fnb app when device was rooted.

Root with Magisk Manager install the module MagiskHide Props Config ( Changes devices fingerprint to pass SafetyNet )
Go to Magisk Hide and hide the banking app from detecting root access
Worked for me on the FNB App

Can i install Lineage without unlocking root access. i dont really need it, then it should work without Magisk. Right?

First you need a unlocked bootloader and root access to install a custom recovery. This will break the warranty. ( Samsung Trigger Knox) , after that you can install a non rooted custom rom

Best thing about a rooted device , add free mobile :-)

S5 with warranty?

That a Samsung S5 , then it can't be still under warranty

If i get the phone on lineage OS, is it possible to go back to the factory ROM and then it will still have Knox? Or will it permanently be triggered?

yip FNB app works on my phone, not sure regarding the fingerprint and NFC features as those might demand a locked phone,

or just don't use those features and transact the good old fashioned way.

I'm running LineageOS 14.1 on a Samsung Note 3 and the Standard Bank app and MasterPass app both work for me

Doesn't matter if it's triggered. Device is out of warranty anyway.
Anyway you can root without triggering Knox.

Can anyone confirm if you can add an MS Exchange account to lineageOS natively (not using gmail, just the built in mail app)?

Did you ever find out if NFC works on an unlocked (non-rooted) phone? I know when using SuperSU to root the FNB app will detect it and NFC won't work, but have read that with Magisk it may be possible to have it working. Not sure if just unlocking the bootloader will also cause NFC to not work.

I use Magisk latest stable, and then go with play intergrity fix by chitroan version latest, and as they come out constantly with new updates just update when it becomes necessary. totally doable with a rooted phone,

otherwise try one of the other ways, like Engen app and link my virtual card to that.
many ways to skin this cat,
