Its insane that you would want your car to lock when your are not locking it your self.
So the main issue is that it will lock when I close the boot. Its happened more than once that because it auto locks I need to have the keys in my hand all the time, then because I have other things in my hands the keys will get dropped and often that means they fall in the boot.
So then the converse is true that if the kids don't close the doors properly it then wont lock at all. So everything looks fine but actually the car is completely unlocked and wont lock even if you press the button on the key. Also it goes through the motions of flashing the lights but none of the doors will lock.
More annoying is the double lock.... so if you press the unlock once it will just unlock the drivers door. Then the second lock will unlock the rest of the doors. So if you unlock and then take longer than a minute to open any of the doors you will have to find the keys and then open twice...
Try doing this with kids and hands full of shopping etc.
I had a car once where the driver's door would open by itself.... While I was driving.![]()
Auto locking for me means the doors automatically lock when I start driving. Thats a great feature.
I really miss mine!08' Seat Leon Cupra

Isn't that what it means?Auto locking for me means the doors automatically lock when I start driving. Thats a great feature.
I thought so. Then this guy comes in waffling about unlocking his car with his hands full of groceries and what happens when the kids don't shut the car doors properly. I thought maybe a definition was needed for the slow ones.Isn't that what it means?
And the cell doors?I don't even have a car and my beer does not have that feature.

yes, but I have deactivated it, don't trust itProbably keyless. Good keyless systems will not lock with FOB inside the vehicle.
Nope they don't lock normally with the fob near or inside it.Probably keyless. Good keyless systems will not lock with FOB inside the vehicle.
