Sjoe, no way hey? Arthur C. Clarke just needed your wisdom :ROFL:
I know I quoted you in that post, but it was only for context, as my post was directed @Brieuse

I know you now have a bee in your bonnet re. this discussion and my comments, but it is still early in the day so have a coffee and calm your tits.

You need to give credit where credit is due. You uncovered that this is the result of technology and not the devil's voodoo magic. Take the rest of the day off. Buy yourself a treat :ROFL:

2014 Chevy Ute - locks after 20km/h
2012 Jeep Patriot - locks when revs above 2000r/m

But why have this poll?

Yes, my 06 Polo has it, also autolocks if I walk away without locking. Surprisingly a lot newer models doesn't come with this.

I remember in the early 2000's I had a Renault Laguna i think a 2002. It could auto-lock the doors but the manual had a warning around the lines of "Automatic locking of doors could result in emergency services not being able to reach passengers in the event of an emergency. It is not recommended to lock your doors while driving"

How times have changed

My 2013 Polo has auto locking doors.
My wife's 2010 i10 does not have auto locking doors.

I would not buy another vehicle that does not have this feature as standard.

Yup because doors now unlock automatically in the event of a crash.

Yeap and the car closes your windows and sunroof in preparation for the crash
That part I did not know, but it makes sense. My Astra used to think it was in a crash a lot then :)

The strangest one is pre sense - you stopped at a red light and a car approaches from side road and the driver is a bit too fast and the car anticipated being T boned and raises the suspension on the one side to take the impact on the floor.
