Yeah both my current cars do.

2009 Civic - Had to program it in
2015 320D - Came as standard. Did program out the auto locking after a period of time when the car is stopped as I loath and detest that. I prefer being "forced" to actively lock my car and not rely on some system.

On my older cars :
1998 Golf 4 - Yes
1998 Audi A4 - Yes
2003 Merc C Class - Yes
1991 BMW 318i - No
1990 BMW 320i - No
2001 Mazda B2500TD - No

Ford Fusion autolocks. Also nice to be able to open or close the windows with the remote, but I think most cars have that now.

Ballade's have been prone to locking issues for as long as I can remember.

Why would you hate it?

And stuff taken? Like when you're stopped at the traffic lights or something?

Are you sure there's not an option for it? Fords have had autolocking since at least 2005, if not earlier.
Yep indeed cant find the option have looked everywhere.

But ford actually went backwards with innovation not forward :p

This is true, I loved their 2005 era Ford Focus, it looked pretty modernish for 2005/2006

You normally have to take the car to an auto-electrician and have it hooked up via the odb port to some sort of programming device. It's not something that you can normally disable or enable yourself.

Actually on my Cruze I could do it from the onboard computer through the radio and on my Clio I just held a button down :). On my Astra it was hold the two buttons down on the remote, on the Polo I had to send it in.
Tried the trick on the Triber and that didn't work.

Yeah, I guess it depends on the make. That's been my experience with Volkswagens at least. You can also get the auto electrician to change the speed at which the doors auto-lock and a few other parameters as well.

Its insane that you would want your car to lock when your are not locking it your self.

So the main issue is that it will lock when I close the boot. Its happened more than once that because it auto locks I need to have the keys in my hand all the time, then because I have other things in my hands the keys will get dropped and often that means they fall in the boot.

So then the converse is true that if the kids don't close the doors properly it then wont lock at all. So everything looks fine but actually the car is completely unlocked and wont lock even if you press the button on the key. Also it goes through the motions of flashing the lights but none of the doors will lock.

More annoying is the double lock.... so if you press the unlock once it will just unlock the drivers door. Then the second lock will unlock the rest of the doors. So if you unlock and then take longer than a minute to open any of the doors you will have to find the keys and then open twice...
Try doing this with kids and hands full of shopping etc.
