As of 10am this morning, on the 1st February 2010.

I have sent a e-mail to Hugo @ Neotel requested a cancellation be processed.

I would like to use this opportunity to bid farewell to Neotel, most people will swear and curse and go on, but I think I've done enough of that in my posts which have dominated the "Neotel NeoCnnect and NeoFlex" forums on MyBB.

Hugo, thanks for everything, but sorry, it was not enough - hopefully, the cancellation will go through nicely and we won't have anymore dramas, I wanted to cancel yesterday already but obviously, it was Sunday and I even hoped that things might improve but speeds of 5KB/s, maxing at 20KB/s is not what I joined Neotel for.

I will be using the deposit that Neotel is holding to pay for any 'startup' costs with going back to DSL.

If there are any "Would-be" Neotel customers who want advice on if they should or should not join Neotel, please do not contact me as I really honestly do NOT have any good things to say about them - however, I hope Hugo can sort Neotel out in the future or at least bea part of the sorting them out.

Well done. Unfortunately these guys will never be able to compete with "proper" telko's like Telkom and iBurst.... (as impossible as that may seem, Noobtel really is worse than anybody else out there).
 
I will really do my best to keep my 'bashing' to a minimal, with that said I wish all you SUCKERS good luck! :D

Sorry to hear gdiza, nothing can be taken away from you in that you sure did try get help and were a very outspoken and patient customer.
All the best on DSL.. I would follow suite if I had the same option.

Clearly Radio Networks just don't do it hey!!

I have also seen the light and cancelled on this past Friday. I really thought Neotel would be a competitive consumer friendly service provider and provide some really good competition to Telkom but I was sadly mistaken.
Having joined them in Aug 2008 (with that nice welcome letter as one of their first consumer customers), I watched my performance decrease as the base stations become more congested and their help desk became a joke.

Hugo, if you're monitoring this take note - I called on Friday and my reference # is 485797 - if you can follow up then I would appreciate it otherwise it's okay.
I have also requested that they cancel the debit order immediately and I will settle the bills directly.

That's it guys, I hope it ends here and my fight does not go to refunds and all the other issues that follow the cancellations.

Oh come now, you call iBurst a "proper" telko? just go into iBurst's subforum and compare it to Neotel's subforum...trust me people are literally screaming "help us, someone, we want to get out of our contracts now" all over the place there! I think Neotel has to be a little above iBurst, at least i never had any billing issues with Neotel.
 
Im phoning Telkom to see if they can relay my +-50 year old copper cable (doesnt work... Its wrapped around a tree as it leads into my roof). If they do, then I will cancel neotel.

Its retarded that I havent been able to use it in 3 days.
 
I've e-mailed Hugo 3 times, no reply but I'm guessing he is busy.

I just had R998 come off my account for Neotel, I hope I get that refunded since I did cancel in time, however, I'm sure I cancelled a bit late (not my fault, it was a weekend when I decided to cancel) but I'm sure hopefully Hugo can help get that refunded.

I've packed up the device and now it's ready for collection!
 
You were definitely hogging the tower. I already did 3.2 GB by 8:00 today and my torrents was doing 140KB/s

I haven't been 'hogging' the tower for almost 2 weeks - all my downloads have been done at work on DSL.
We'll talk again soon ninex... actually, we won't, cause once my line is officially cancelled and I'm on DSL, I'm avoiding this section like a rash - don't want to be reminded of all the bad memories. BUT I'm sure you'll go from 140KB/s down to 10-20 again soon, just watch and yes, then you can blame another user ;)
 
If they haven't charged you for it by now, they probably won't.
I however want it gone, so either they come fetch it or I'll take it to them, as for the antenna, I'll take it off the wall and sell it on Gumtree/CapeAds if they don't give me my deposit back!

Hugo is the one and only person at Neotel to ever have delivered anything that was promised.
I am ecstatic to report that my cancellation went through instantly,with Skynet collecting Neotel's pile of Chinese drek the very next day.
My external antenna was also collected promptly.
A-F******* MAZING, the company finally woke up and employed someone competent.
Telkom had a radio spot on Classic FM today teasing the market with a promise of much faster ADSL, so perhaps this is a good time to move.
 
I agree with klezmoris on mostly everything.

I hope that Hugo can sort me out with my cancellation and make sure it goes through nicely.

Cancellation did go through 1 Feb 10, so billing closed it as end of Jan.

To everyone - i am still here and if there are the challenges, i am here to help. There have been serious time delays but processes are speeding up day by day.
I am almost finished with the PN congestion list that alot of you have been refered to by myself in conversation, so more news on this shortly.
