The problem is we kept overestimating Neotel and they way underdelivered...

People seem to forget that rolling out a network takes time.
Telkom has had decades to get their **** together and have an extensive network which enables them to plug in & offer services quickly. Rolling new things out isn't a struggle for Telkom as they own all the wires our grandparents paid for years ago, whereas other providers have to do their own thing or lease from Telkom.
Neotel KNOW they need to increase coverage and they're busy with it but do we really have to hear people moan incessantly about it all day? Give it some time, perhaps by the end of that time the prices would have come down as well, which would be a lot less to moan about.
The problems I have with Neotel, is as follows:
- They are over hyped.
- They don't have enough coverage to match the hype they produced.
- They don't respond to emails send to addresses on their website (or haven't to me).
- Contracts in a ever changing landscape is a big no.
- Equipment you can actually buy in a shop, that works the way you want it to work, with the interfaces you need.
+1 Especially the contract and device. I want to be able to buy my own device for cash from any shop I choose and then use it with a prepaid service...
Neotel has to improve their website to show the areas that are covered, their search function to see what areas are covered sucks.
Hey Neotel, why not have something like this?
