In the first age...

My experience so far has been, unusual. I come to a room, scoping it out from afar, and I swear to blog I see one of the demons fighting someone that is shooting back. So I go yolo and fire up the demon, look back and there's a marine! Woohoo I found a friend! Next moment this nigga blasts me with a shotgun. I look again and realized, sheeet, this boy doesn't look right.

And that's how Doom made me chainsaw my first friend in half. 6/10 - ruins friendships.
 
Gonna wait for AMD and Nvidia to release new graphics cards later this year, then I'll buy it.

I want to play it in 4K. Right now I have a 1070 8GB, which would not be able to handle 4k at playable framerates.

The 1070 gets 50FPS at 4K ultra, turn down a couple things and you get 60FPS easy.

Yeah that's a good idea tbh. But man i would not be able to deal with the low frames at 4K, I play on 1080p with a gtx 1080 and as soon as my fps gets below 120 on doom i can start to feel the lagginess.

Depending on the size of your screen, 1440p exists as well... :p

49 inch 4K TV. Got my PC connected to it. I'd either use 1080p and upscale it to 4k, or 4k. 1440 makes no sense for me.

I don't need 120 fps but I'd like something like 50 FPS minimum. Maybe 60 FPS minimum.

I'm sure if you set it to high and shadows to medium you will get 60FPS.chart.jpg
 
Played a little bit for an hour. Loved it, forgot how fast moving it is. Should hopefully get another hour or two in tonight
 
I've put in 3 solid sessions over the weekend.

Thoughts so far:
1) The game plays quite differently to Doom 2016
2) Strategy/resource management is key
3) It's not an easy game, even at medium difficulty
4) Maps are far bigger, take longer to get through than 2016
5) It looks fantastic and runs extremely well
6) Stylistically the game is more colorful when compared to 2016
7) Picking up all the extra goodies and/or farming some of the achievements/weapon upgrade tasks makes life easier later.
8) There is no weapon, primary or secondary that has no use.
9) Read the intel on enemies for additional tips on how to defeat them
10) Multiplayer is pretty creative but it isn't for me. Give me Deathmatch.
 
That musical homage in the intro to the original games is just pure awesome.

Haven’t spent too much time with it but so far everything except the immersion breaking tutorials is pure awesomeness.

Just turn the bloody motion blur and film grain off. Why is this **** still in games?

I also removed all DOFs as I can't stand it. Open the console (~) and properly disabled them via r_ cvar.

r_dofTAA 0
r_motionBlur 0

When you finally get to the parts where the metal choir and the throat singing, it's ridiculous how well MG mixed it in. It is literally that good imho.

Playing on Xbox so the console is irrelevant to me.

Throat singing and choirs sound awesome though.
