Well since I play support 90% of the time and currently only doing ranked matches, I tend to stick with either orge or witch, as usually I need to be able to give as much damage as possible due to our carries not able to last hit properly, so their team fight contribution is somewhat lacking at times. Orge is usually good at harassing the enemy out of lane so that your carry can try hitting those creeps more successfully (albeit somewhat painful to watch at times)

I love playing Ember,Magnus,Axe back in the day, 40% winrate made me convert to support heroes :p

Well I played my 10 ranked, got my scrub-rating, and now I need to climb MMR ....
but it it's a bit meh....

I hardly play solo, and normal with friends is just fine.
On a positive note, not sure if the initial OSR thing blew over but finding normal matches is back to 2-3min.

As for Ogre.....that dude can be scary....I have a friend who a while back took him 23-2 and has since then almost been playing him exclusively. I even took over some of his ward duties so he can rush eather lense and agh's...making him almost a semi carry. And a pleasure to lane with.

Played vs Ogre mid once as a drow, needless to say i got wrecked as he started tower diving me 4 min in to the game and team just didnt mind, that hero is so hard to kill with physical damage.

What did your MMR get calibrated at?

I calibrated around 1500MMR. I'm no pro but I'd like to think with limited effort I should be able to get up to 2K+ pretty easily. I had a few very noob teams while doing my 10 games and lost 4 out of the 10, with me playing support for maybe 7-8 of them.

I'd have to say that most of the games I played was a much lower skill level than my current hidden MMR type-matches suggest.
2 of the games I carried we had no courier for 10min....and 5 carries with everybody just auto-attacking creeps. (Hence me switching to support for most matches.)

Ogre is broken in the right hands, and with some good RNG. So much damage potential while still being able to run support duties. Stun, great regen, DOT, what more do you want?

Climbing MMR is a bitch, two weekends ago I played 16 games, lost 8, gained 0 MMR. Last weekend I played another 16, lost 5, gained 225MMR

Yeah, it really is a time consuming thing to be able to get it to a high number. There is a reason that the high mmr players all have a played a redonk amount of games, with a +50% win rate...

Makes you appreciate the guys that are at the 6, 7 and 8k mark even more.

Indeed. For me, I hardly play any solo, so doubt I'll make the effort to climb it. If I do go solo and there is no time difference between searching ranked and normal,. then yes I'd search ranked. At 24MMR per win.....I don't plan to play TI8.

Meh Climbing MMR is not that hard, Be like badman spam 1 OP hero, something that scrubs can't really counter, I enjoy spamming SF or druid in ranked games

My micro is piss poor, so lone druid is put for me. Might just stick with CM and Dazzle. Have high win rates with both of them. And Mirana, because you know, arrowing things is too fun...

Was an interesting weekend of Dokta, spent quite a lot of time spectating the pro's, highly entertaining stuff!

Managed to squeeze in 15 ranked games, lost 3, so gained around 300mmr, which is a bit more than the previous weeks 225mmr.

Finding matches is however starting to become somewhat of an issue, as waiting longer than 60 minutes to play can be a bit much.Luckily there was some quality games to spectate in-between the waits.

Switched to EU ranked Sunday early morning since our servers are pretty much tumbleweed territory for ranked before 10am.

All in all fun was had, even had the opportunity to witness my very first omniknight laning mid, lucky for him it was against dk.

Here's hoping ranked picks up somewhat now that it's finally the 18th :D

Will definitely give the ranked search thing a try from the 18th. Would be nice to tryhard against tryhards for a change.

Not sure how good ranked seraching will be during the week but it is worth a go.

As someone who played ranked the entire weekend, don't do it. Spare yourself. Played a lot of ranked games this weekend got up to 1.9k MMR then yesterday dota decided to put all the knobs on the server on my team nou I'm back at 1.7k

Morale of the story, if you go 22/6 in a ranked game.

To be fair, that happens in unranked just as much.

Don't get me wrong, SA ranked at this stage in time is still very unbalanced due, firstly, so many people still calibrating, and secondly, small player pool.

Playing in a ranked game with an average mmr of 2000 means you generally stuck with one player above 2000mmr, and two in the low 500 range, the rest make up the difference.

Alternatively, you get one poor sod with 2000mmr and the remaining 4 are TBD (still calibrating)

When I played on EU, everyone was calibrated and the biggest difference in mmr was about 100 points, if that.

We will get there eventually, but only with more people switching to Ranked, otherwise it will fail as per usual.

The beginning will always be hard, but it will be worth the pain in the end?

Dude I was queuing the same time as you and hoping to be teamed up so I know someone on the team has a brain. But yeah I will probably still play ranked till I drop below 1k MMR then I will stop :D
