It is just me or is finding SA Ranked games becoming harder and harder?

Few weeks ago it took between 2-15min average, during peak hours. Last weekend I waited on avg 40min+ and yesterday I just gave up and went EU.
I found 2 games yesterday in about 5min each. Mashed potato bracket.

Hmm ok, guess it's based on luck then, will see what happens this weekend. I really do hope OSR keeps going as it's almost made dota more enjoyable for me at least.

Playing EU isn't bad, I just prefer the local banter more :D

Might also be based on skill level. I'm sitting at the bottom of the barrel here so I think games are easier to come by.

Didn't get much time for gaming yesterday, but still managed to fit in 7 ranked games, lost one :(

7 games which are at least 30 minutes each is still at least 3.5 hours. Not much time for gaming he says...

I thought the same thing lol.

These days I fit in maybe 2 games in an evening if I'm lucky.

Snap and Snap, not much time for gaming = no gaming or a paused bot match. I'm getting frustrated with Dota, think my team always holds me back in a way. A friend of mine who is of a similar level has regressed and as a support he now pushes the lane right under the tower...No matter how much I protest he still does it, makes LH a biatch and leaves you open to ganks, which as you can imagine happen often. /rant over.

Pull the lane. Now even the carry can do it in safelane without compromising farm. Just pull to that large camp near the river.

Yea been married a while now and my dota time has taken a rather large hit. Hoping to do some serious dota this long weekend though.

Not a very successful weekend of dota this time around, played 20, lost 10 and ended up losing 1mmr overall heh

Unfortunately finding ranked SA is becoming next to impossible for me, at one stage I queued for 99min, only to realize the timer doesn't go past 99.00, so aborted that effort soon after.

Is OSR still alive and well, or has it started fading away for others as well?

Going to rant a bit here.

I've quit DOTA2 again, and that's with decent stats in SA and EU.

Firstly, most of my friends want me to play with them, and some of my friends aren't very good. I'm highly competitive about the game, and I get very edgy after losing because of the poor play of some of my mates. I'd rather not play at all than waste 30-60 minutes of my life on a game that we're very likely to get steamrolled (3 of my last 6 losses are games with my mates, at least one of whom often complains about other people despite having a sub 50% win ratio). I can jam Rocket League with my friends and it doesn't annoy me if we get thumped since its only 5 minutes per game, and its fun regardless of winning or losing.

Secondly, SA Dota players... It's pretty shocking that I can take huge breaks (2+ months), and within a few games be back to smashing players with thousands of hours into the ground. Some of these guys have very little clue in regards to what they're doing, which is insane considering some of them have 3000+ hours in the game. This is the biggest problem with SA Dota, not the fact that people don't play ranked. Games are ROFLstomps and are over by 20 minutes, but you have to wait 20+ minutes while the other team gets items so they can siege high ground.

At very least the community is a lot friendlier these days. I might come back next year once I've finished up my part-time uni stuff, but at the moment my time is too precious to waste on not having fun.

Know the feeling, I have a mate who plays psuedo carry no matter what he is. Using cask on creeps to get farm seconds before a team fight, running away when the carry needs help etc etc. Tempted to just let him play a real carry every time but then he also is never where he needs to be.

Hmmm yeah, I don't play dota with any friends, I've learnt that lesson long ago :p

I still like jamming with fellow forum members, it can be very entertaining at times. Whether it's win/lose doesn't really matter all that much then, at least not for me.

Yeah. It's one of those cases of you're damned if you do, but you're damned if you don't.

If I could 5 stack with voice I would probably get less annoyed, but I jam with a few people, and only one of them is actually decent, and one of them admits he sucks and just does his best. The others... they talk like they play well but some of them can barely last hit :/

I think if you're going in with a crew that's just trying to have fun, it's cool, but the people I play with want to win so once we start getting smashed it gets awkward and tense. Rather just avoid that kind of vibe in my down time.

Haha. Am a bachelor but have a couple of creative side projects that I'm getting off the ground, a part-time diploma, and work. Part of me is like "Good thing I broke up with my ex a few months back coz I would have no time for her and she'd be pissed!" XD. Other part of me is like... oh well, at least I still have video games :p
