The reason = They actually pulled their finger out ther bum and did something about it.

If they win its going to be chaos. Everybody is goin to be suing telkom!

I Can't believe it has been delayed again!! Why untill 16 May!! That's like 2months from now!

Remember this can drag on even further.
Telkom will not leave it? Telkom will Appeal if it is going to cost them money?
That is their way.

Yes it will be a lengthy and drawn out process, but that is the nature of such things.

Thanks guys for your support and your phone calls. It is really appreciated!

Last year when we launched the urgent interdict, Telkom asked the judge to present expert oral evidence. The case was postponed until this week for that. Telkom did not call any of their experts.

Legal eagles here can explain what that means. I'm careful not to express an opinion about the case at this time. ;)

We will still offer our All You Can Eat 30GB accounts at R680 p/m.
 
People are supporting them because they are looking out for their customers, not because they dislike Telkom. Everyone dislikes Telkom so nothing special there.

I would rather be with an ISP that is interested in what *I* want rather than what is only good for THEM ONLY. DOTCO is an ISP like that. And I use them.

Anyway they are fighting for everyone not just for themselves. At great expense too.

5 months of waiting. Then a two day hearing. Another 2 month delay for closing arguments ... All for what exactly? I understand the reasoning and the need for action. I'm not commenting on the pro's and con's for either side. It's just interesting that TelkomInternet seems to basically be doing the same thing DotCo was doing before (and still is thanks to the interdict). Could this be a ploy to attract as many customers as possible before the court rules against them?

Makes one think, doesn't it?

Yeah, now there is a story.

If I had the resources I would chase it. Pity that nobody else seem to be interested.
 
/me also supports DOTCO ... but ... I feel that I am on the winning end of that relationship [not doing it cos of the court case].

But ... 16 May ... that's blerry rediculous.

Lets see ... judge hears the arguments and then gives judgement 2 months after that ?

ixhd with a post count of 1, you obviously had many comments here about this. :p

It was shown in court (and it is a widely known) that All You Can Eat started out as being unlimited. A few weeks after AYCE was launced last year, it was changed to 30GB.

DotCo, went ahead and sold uncapped accounts (not the 30gig's they were ment to limit things too), and encouraged users to use as much as possible.
Telkom got upset, I think quite fairly in this case.

As a result Telkom introduced per gig billing to prevent this sort of activity.
I'm not trying to blame DotCo for Telkom shafting us at any available chance, but they certainly played a part.

Be very careful about supporting someone or something simply because they also hate your enemy.
