Here's a thought I've just had about Telkom's per-gig ADSL billing structure;

If I send an email to a friend across the road, Telkom bills me for sending the data down my line, then bills my friend for receiving the data on his end.

If I email my friend in the UK, Telkom only gets to bill me for the data I'm sending down my line.

If I'm not mistaken, this means it costs twice as much to transmit data locally than it does to transmit overseas, alternatively, Telkom get double the revenue for data sent locally than they do for data sent internationally.

AND we are charged international rates for the double charges. Damn B@stards

No but seriously, we are in a LOT of trouble if something is not done about Telkoms exploitation of the South African public and crippling of small businesses that need ADSL...

Yeah stop sending emails to your local friends already, it's costing them money! What were you thinking??! :D
