Double the data at the same price

This is a special that only lasts for the week that you top up in. If you top up on Sunday at 10am it expires at midnight same day - it's not comparing the same thing here where you get data that does not expire.

The Vodacom data lexpires after a month. Lets say 4 weeks. Top up on Monday mornings with R50 on CellC. To compare correctly:

2GB data, R200 airtime, 200sms, for R200 over 4 weeks from CellC

for anyone with a smartphone who wants to stay connected and sync data during the day (when we actually use our phones), this "double" data is useless...

How far did you get in reading the article? Seems like you stopped at paragraph two.

Timing sucks considering 8ta's new 2Gig + 1Gig Midnight Surfer for R 149.00 has just been announced. Poor VC lol.

At least the existing customers will get a trickle more data though :)

When I got my SGS, I cannot recall any packages like this. If there were, the salesman definitely said nothing if a smart phone package. I stuck in a package similar to the Talk 120, but paying 50% more for it... and half the text messages. Worst! :(

110MB

Any news on the Talk 120 for iPhones with 110MB data bundle?

*Edit - Wow, I joined in 2007 and this is my first post!

aaah - i have now realised that the 500MB is "normal" data and not night-owl data. still, the night-owl stuffs would be great to have all day. i think it is misleading how it gets advertised as being so great...

The night owl "double" bandwidth is useless, only a marketing ploy for people that don't know Vodacom is leading them by the nose. I'll rather go for FNB Connect, their prices seem better than Vodacoms, and I can use it on my Vodacom phone.

For all the illiterate people posting is this thread about night-owl:

Vodacom_double_data.PNG

Old data is in column three and new data is in column five. You can use it ANY TIME you want. This is NOT a night-owl deal.

Vodacom’s contract subscribers now also benefit from Night Owl bandwidth which provide ‘double their data’ to be used between 00:00 and 05:00 daily.

What was that about Night Owl?

No, just saying that the article was also about Night Owl, and a lot of people commented on that.
