Double the data at the same price

Somehow you've managed to take a story about Vodacom, politicize it and blame the ANC......:wtf: this is annoying because if you really wanted to take the ANC to task about something you should start a thread in the politics sub-section.
Apology if I offended you. I used the example as I felt that it is an example that would be understood by most of the people on the forum.

Lets take another example then in the telecoms industry... It is like people blaming Vodacom for their Blackberry's that stopped working for a couple of days a couple of weekends ago.

But now the problem with this is that I have to explain. RIM had major software issues in UK and had people working day and nights trying to sort out the problem. This was something that is completely out of the control of the Vodacom as operator but yet they received the blame despite press releases and doing everything possible to solve the problem. So again people complain and blame without getting their facts straight.

Again, apology if I offended you and/or your political affiliation, it was definitely not my intention. ;)

If you buy your iPhone on a contract - well you deserve to get scr@wed, and so you are!
Hehe

One "positive" thing I currently hope for from the iPhone is that their new phone will include LTE, and that this can get the LTE networks up and going. Currently with lack of handsets and devices it is just not being pushed as hard as it can since the return on investment is so far off. This includes LTE development worldwide. But if iPhone makes for widespread LTE capable devices then LTE will be taking off and probably get some accelerated development and releases. And the consumer will win - but if the iPhone only supports the 700 and 2600 spectrums we will again be blocked by ICASA and more efficient processes.

Beat this.

I get 500MB of data 200 minutes and 100 SMSes for R250. + I now have proper reception at home.

Beat that Vodacon!

Vodacom is further set to cut their top-up and prepaid data rates in the coming weeks.
IBIWISI

FWIW, Here's the price as it used to be:

Vodacom:

Price = MB = R/MB

R2 = 1MB = R2.00
R9.25 - 8MB - R1.15
R28 - 30MB - R0.93
R88 - 110MB - R0.80
R119 - 175MB - R0.68
R0.50 - 1MB - R0.50
R139 - 300MB - R0.46
R189 - 600MB - R0.32
R289 - 1200MB - R0.24
R389 - 2300MB - R0.169

And for comparison:

CellC:

R400 - 3000MB - R0.133

What about those of us on the iPhone top-up contract? You know the ones who usually get 110mb but only got 100mb this month? How much will we be getting?

I wonder if they will change these - got the impression they lost a lot of money on these... the special didnt last long, and I know tons of people that got it.

The wife went from a old crappy nokia with R135 talke time for R150 a month, to an iphone, with 110mb data, with R275 talk time for R350 a month. That was like getting the iphone for free :)

quick question...

I got a iPhone on a Talk120 which comes with 110MB monthly (wooohooo )

Does this mean that this has gone up to 250MB now??

for anyone with a smartphone who wants to stay connected and sync data during the day (when we actually use our phones), this "double" data is useless...

CellC has 500MB data, R50 airtime, plus some free sms's for R50?
Prepaid too.

This is a special that only lasts for the week that you top up in. If you top up on Sunday at 10am it expires at midnight same day - it's not comparing the same thing here where you get data that does not expire.

If you on an iPhone T120 you should have been getting 250MB and now 500MB.
If you on a normal T120 with a 110MB bundle you will now have a 100MB bundle but at R49.00 per month.
