The interesting thing is that in order to monitor, they are probably joining the swarm and thus not only downloading the material themselves (and breaking the law in doing so), but also being monitored by other people. They cannot verify that the material is theirs unless they download it first, thus they are frequently downloading material belonging to other people and covered by copyright or they are just assuming the content belongs to them without verification.

.. your ISP actually also monitors everything you do online ... Everything!
Well, what they should rather do is put their money into providing affordable digital services available to all, regardless of geography and platform and thereby earn the trust and good will of people who want their content and are willing to pay for it.
I received an infringement notice from my ISP. It was forwarded by them from some other company.
Anyways I'm a bit scared to download anything now.
Maybe move to a non-IS-reseller ISP would be a start. I get no issues on MWEB, but used to get them on my old ISP.
A quick note, my line has been upgrade to 2Mbps and I am still running a 1Mbps MWEB ADSL account. If I do a speedtest I get 1Mbps, but in reality for all content (Youtube video for example) and things like torrents I am getting close to 2MbpsUsed to rape my line as well, had no issues with MWeb

For once the Ookla test is well below true throughput!
Films and series on iTunes are too expensive though. On the money, the territory based system is really outdated as is everything else about the current delivery system. Really they should be making it easy to access good quality content at a reasonable price. Itunes is such a great example, yet the film industry just can't seem to wrap their minds around it.
