I downloaded and installed DAP but I don't see any speed increases in my downloads. Am I missing something out here because it say's it increases download speeds of up to 400% but my downloads still stay between 38 & 39kb/s

Odd. I downloaded and didn't even need to configure anything .... speeds doubled.

Also got the Video Accelerator which works perfect.

Downloads can only go as fast as your line. If you on 384k, you not going to be downloading at 70kbs.
I found with DAP, it just increases reliability of the download... ill constantly get 250kb, but when i use IE it fluctuates alot

i prefer fdm (free download manager) works wonders for all kind of downloads awesome with torrents as well, i'll advise you to try it

Those 2 words do say something lol.
Orbit FTW.

DAP is full of adware. Uninstall it and run an adware scan.
No download accelerator will make your downloads "faster".

Free Download Manager or Orbit are nice apps to manage your downloads and to be able to resume them.

Defragging your PC wont make your downloads faster, unless you have a really slow and useless PC :p

I have been using DAP for a few years now, and had several hunderds of gigs of speedy successfull and adware-free downloads.

To maximise your download speed, click on tools, options and then select the "connection" option. Here you must specify "high acceleration" as well as your type of broadband connection. These settings will determine the amount of simultaneous connections made to your download source.

As poffle said, in the end your download will only be as fast as the limit of your line speed. As a rule of thumb, you could divide your line speed in kbps by 8 to determine your average download speed in kB/s, eg. if you have iBurst like me, advertised at 1,000 kbps you should be getting around 120 kB/s download speed. DAP does not increase this speed, but makes more optimal use of your available line speed.

I generally find that using a direct download through the OS (Windows Vista / Windows 7) I would only get around 50-60 kB/s on average, whereas using DAP I would achieve a constant 120 kB/s, for local or international downloads.

alternate, as far as adware and DAP goes, I have not seen/detected any adware as a result of using DAP. At home I run AVG (paid version) and at work we use Symantec products, and I run weekly scans for viruses, malware, adware and other malicious types of intrusions. Touchwood, so far so good.

My 2 cents...

Regards, Rudi

Nice hint, maybe you should read some books, im guessing your IQ is low.

Well if your honestly dumb enough to believe that this magic tool will overcome natural boundaries (40k/s) on a 384 line then i can only imagine how much Glomail and Verimark cr@p you have in your house.

that is true, i use internet accelerator and it just stabilizes your downloads so you get a constant speed, but you wont get more than what your line can do
