Dragon Age Veil Guard

It a fantasy video game.
I don't give a f about trans/DEI stuff in the game, if I can create my character to be misogynistic sadist.
At the end of the day. is the game fun? Consensus seems it is.
I will play it.

Also just to give you guys an idea of who this guy actually is... He was responsible for some of the best Bioware characters.

Characters written by Patrick Weekes include Solas, Cole and Iron Bull in Dragon Age. But more importantly, in Mass Effect he was the guy responsible for Garrus (ME2+3), Kasumi (ME2/3), Tali (ME2/3), the brilliant Mordin (ME2/3), Jack (ME2/3) and Joker (ME3).

I think he knows how to write lol.

You're barking up the wrong tree, these people don't actually care, they just want to be angry at whatever the latest thing is to feel something in their sad little lives.

You can't, that's the point. You can only be nice, nicer or nicest. There's no conflict and no getting angry for you...

Less content is absolutely fine. In fact, some of the best games ever made are games that have comparatively very little content.

Journey and Portal can be finished in about 3 hours or so.


I don't want to wade through piles of garbage to get through the good stuff, and apparently that is what this game actually seems to be. The last 2 hours of the game seem to be where the payoff happens, everything else in the other 50 hours seems to be slop.

Except the instant I could send he/she/it to their death and rid the Inquisition of the degeneracy, I did it without a moment's hesitation.

Such decisions are few and far seem to be few and far between with this new one.

The problem is that the description of the game's dialogue as having HR in the room is apparent. A good RPG would introduce divisive ideas by allowing the dialogue to actually question the ideology.

The writers are either not capable of putting themselves sincerely into the shoes of people who disagree with their ideology, or were told that questioning the ideology is forbidden.

If you look way back on a much more banal subject like religion. Your character would always have a choice there about whether to accept it or to go against it.

Heck, one of the main missions in DA:O has a quest where you can potentially defile a holy artifact.

Think everyone will back off once the game goes live.

I just hope that whoever plays it will post honest reviews, and not reasons to justify buying it.

I'm willing to look past the woke stuff if the game is good. It's all the stuff in SkillUp's review that has me worried, and he didn't touch on it at all...

Still waiting to see a single line of dialogue from the PC that isn't a variation of nice.

 
The lack of choice is the issue

If it's true that being a apologetic, sniveling, groveling, flower-picking do no wrong fairy is your only option then it is a problem

The game can lecture me all it wants as long as I get the choice to burn the lecturer alive if I disagree
That would make it an RPG game

If I am forced to listen to a lecture and my only choice is to agree with it - then it is not a RPG game anymore, but a agenda

Play baldur's gate 3 if you haven't played that.
