Yeah, also gave me Neverwinter vibes.Looks good. Kinda what I expect a modern Neverwinter Nights would look like.
People is over thinking the character reveal video.
This has a very different tone and feel to the trailer (in a good way), which seemed like a Overwatch style micro-transaction fest.
Not a big fan of Varric at all. He's way too "normal", uninteresting and the most un-dwarf-like dwarf I've ever seen. He's just ok.I liked the banter between Oghren and Alistair, but Varric was a bit too toned down. Hopefully it's better this time.
Oh and btw I think it looks amazing. Hope it plays well too. If you want to appreciate how far this game has come, try playing the original DA: Origins again...

No thanks. Easy pass.
The borderland'esque character intros, everything so light and tonally different from previous titles.
Dragon age was best when it played into the dark fantasy themes.
We went from:
"I once breached the fade in the name of another, to serve the old gods of the empire in person. I found only chaos, and corruption, dead whispers. For a thousand years I was confused, but no more. I have gathered the WILL to return, under no name, but my own. To champion with it, teventir, to correct this blighted world. BEG that I succeed, for I have seen the throne of the gods, and it is empty."

My hope diminishes.
Yeah Oghren was very similar to Gimli, which is what a dwarf's character should be like.Basically I feel like dwarfs in Dragon Age have become too human and Amercanized if that makes sense..
F it man, if this game has any of that woke gender schit in it, I'm giving it a hard miss...
Exactly. That's pretty much how dwarfs have always been in fantasy games/movies. Nowadays I feel like dwarfs have become normal or more human because they don't want to offend little people or something.Yeah Oghren was very similar to Gimli, which is what a dwarf's character should be like.

ON DRAGON AGE
The Dragon Age franchise has a very special place in Corinne’s heart. In part, she says, that’s because the games are all about possibility. “In Dragon Age, you can be who you want to be, explore the possibilities and consequences of your choices, and build relationships that leave a lasting impression,” she says. “Few games give players that kind of autonomy while also weaving such a rich narrative—I think it really speaks to why our players feel so invested in this world.”
And the idea of being who you want to be carries a particularly special meaning for Corinne. “As a queer trans woman,” she says, “I have a perspective on the games that not everyone has. Dragon Age has long been a place where LGBTQIA+ folks can see people like themselves, represented respectfully. It’s inherently very queer, and it’s such a rare thing for marginalized communities to have representation where we feel proud and powerful in how we are depicted. It’s so deeply meaningful for so many. I often get emotional when I think about what it would have meant for a younger version of myself to see someone like her in a game, and as a hero, no less. I hope we can be a safe place for our queer players to know they are not alone, that they are brilliant and worthy, that they are not only welcome but celebrated.”
