You guys are a bit late complaining about BW and choices. They were one of the first to use queer/gay characters with jade empire. That's nearly 2 decades ago...

Nah disagree. BG3 is what a modern NW game looks like. The Dragon age series gameplay isn't that anymore.

A long time ago I liked playing ToEE, but I remember how some people rubbished the game due to it having a bisexual male character. That is dumb herd mentality. Conservatives accept gay women in creative works and porn, but struggle to accept it in reality, and are absolutely against gay men. These views have since reached an equilibrium; conservatives today are more open to gay people.

There is a worsening situation in concern to thought-training when it comes to the broader topic.

Lots of generalisations here, but you're also just glossing over the insane moral panic that conservatives pushed for decades over gay people, as if it didn't happen. There's been zero reflection about the damage it did and how it was based on nothing. The same thing they're doing again now, of course.

Also, basically anything other than invisibility is decried as an 'attack' and as 'wokeness run amok'.

I mean, if you read the IGN article Vorastra screenshotted (not actually linked to, tellingly) - the romance system is fundamentally open-ended so that characters can pursue whoever they want. The 'everyone is pansexual' also isn't something the developer said from what I can see, it's the writers' conclusion.

I agree. Don't force anybody to do or watch things that they don't want to. Let the player decide and let it be subtle not a main story line thing.
 
I think this article, and the first trailer has already primed people to hate the game - the game looks visually stunning, and the combat seems to have some depth although I do feel sorry for original fans of the series. I also think the person playing in the gameplay trailer was trash so may not be doing it justice. I also have no idea on the story so far, so can't comment on that but the cutscenes look good too. Clearly a lot of work has gone into it, ultimately does it all fit together.

As for the politics, I'm glad they made all characters pansexual because to this day my Ashley/Femshep remains a dream outside of mods :(
