Dragon Age Veil Guard

Are all the DragonAge games so 'chatty'?

Waffle, waffle, blah, blah...jeepers

In the originals it was great how they interacted and bantered with each other in the background while you adventured. But it also wasn't a constant thing being an RPG with at least XX hours of playtime, so they meted it out now and then.

Debatable, it was full open world sure
Not really. Full open world in my books is one open map, no zones with loading screens between them. DA:I is semi open-world.

Not sure if there even is a fully open world Bioware game

You can go anywhere between areas whenever you want, so open. It's not one linear route you are forced to take

By your definition The Witcher 3 was a semi-open world

Fair enough, you are right there. Semi open world. I think the closest Bioware has ever come to full open world may have been Anthem, but even that was more semi open world than open world

By map size, The Witcher 3 would be 3 open worlds  Honestly, end of the day who gives a ****, all these games have big open places to run around in

Seems everyone is hung up by map size or how the maps are loaded when it comes to open world

Open world is just a game where you can go where you want, when you want regardless of map size

Hell, it doesn't even have to be an RPG

FPS games can be open world like S.T.A.L.K.E.R

There isn't one in the true open world sense like the elder scrolls or gothic sense. BW have always done the zone way due to the focus being more story orientated.

Debatable, it was full open world sure, but it was filled with mostly mmo fetch quests
All RPGs are filled with fetch quests.

If there's a criticism I had with DA:I it's that it actually needed more content. The level cap was also way too low...

No GOOD RPG's are filled with fetch quests. And we are basically saying the same thing, the game needed more interesting side quests and it needed to chop a good chunk of its bad content : ie the fetch quests

Its been awhile since I played Inquisition, but I did put in a good chunk of time - but I distinctly remember it being at least 95% fetch quests - without the decency of at least having a good narrative hook for the quests. It was literally quests pulled out of a mmo and stuck into the game to pad it out so they could mark it as a 100hr plus title.

I enjoyed Inquisition. It was quite an feat of a game at the time.
From what I have seen of this it looks like I will like it.

Almost done with DAO, then just need to do Awakening and the rest of the dlc's - really looking forward to DA2, and finally Inquisition
