Is it just me or does the trailer seem a bit meh?The release date is 31 Oct lol.
Also the new trailer has a countdown - launches in 83 minutes from now
Its available for preorder now. They stuck to the more traditional $59.99 instead of $69.99 for the PC version and $69.99 for ps5 & Xbox.
The deluxe edition is $20 more but seems absolutely worthless. Usually you atleast get an art book & sound track here the difference seems to be 23 cosmetic items.
Defenitely not worth the extra R500 on steam between the editions.

New trailer looks amazing imo. Easily the game I'm most looking forward to this year (well this and Star Wars).

Probably just the wider colour palette for the sfx makes it seem that way. But it definitely looks like a step up from the previous games...

Dragon Age Inquisition was a great open world game at the time (pre-Witcher 3 and AC Origins) and I probably put 80+ hours into it.
But I'd recommend just waiting for the new one, especially if you're new to the series.
- Inquisition has dated facial animations and the controls feel clunky.
- It stutters like crazy in cutscenes even on PC due to a horribly inefficient version of the Frostbite engine.
- It is also locked to 1080p/30 on PS4 and 900p/30 on Xbox One, PS5 didn't get an update and on Series X with FPS boost it's 900p/60.
- It has one of the most boring and dragged out opening areas in gaming - just the words "The Hinterlands" reminds me of the 15-20 hours I spent there.
You'd have to really love Dragon Age to slog through the 50+ hours of it over some of the better open world titles around.

This is an old Dragon Age argument.
Just leave the damn Hinterlands. It doesn't add anything significant to the story, and who gives a flying f about some farmer's missing animals, unless you're OCD about completing everything.
I played it as recently as a few months ago. It's not fully up to modern standards, but still very playable and still holds up well. The first two games are completely unplayable. I ruined my memories of them by even trying.

Damn you've missed out lol. One of my favourite series and at times it's even better than Mass Effect or anything Bioware. And if you've played and enjoyed games like Baldur's Gate etc I don't see how you wouldn't also enjoy Dragon Age.
I would say go play them all but that's just me.

Inquisition was the only dragon age I did not like and I think it was because it released within 6 months of Witcher 3. W3 stole the show on every front.
Completely agree about the starting areas I put in about 10 hours and barley fought anything then when you actually find something to fight it just crushes you. I then stopped that and years later tried it again up to the point of the map in the castle with TMI mission that never stop.
DA 1 and 2s nostalgia will make me play this but I won't be pre-ordering will wait for reviews and if it's kak play it a year later.

Nope the first one kind of was (except for the movement points), but they changed it from the second one. It plays more like a 3rd person Diablo...

Not turn based no. If you've ever played a bioware game like Mass Effect or KOTOR then you know what to expect. Combat is the same but with swords and magic etc.

Haha that's what I wanted again.
Even in Inquisition you can pause and go into a tactical view. But now with this game they changed it to a pure action game. You can't even control the other people in the party.
I'm not the target audience for this game. It's the way things go unfortunately. I loved DAO so much that I have an official "Morrigan approves" shirt that I bought way back then. But times change and I hope people enjoy this game. Personally I'll spend my money elsewhere.
