Dragon Age Veil Guard

Haha that's what I wanted again.

Even in Inquisition you can pause and go into a tactical view. But now with this game they changed it to a pure action game. You can't even control the other people in the party.

I'm not the target audience for this game. It's the way things go unfortunately. I loved DAO so much that I have an official "Morrigan approves" shirt that I bought way back then. But times change and I hope people enjoy this game. Personally I'll spend my money elsewhere.

I will still play it for the story and characters, as I love that from BW games. But agree the gameplay has sadly moved well away from the crpg that DAO was.

Not turn based no. If you've ever played a bioware game like Mass Effect or KOTOR then you know what to expect. Combat is the same but with swords and magic etc.
KOTOR was turn based was based on a dnd system. you could que 4 attacks per turn.
Mass effect was when they moved to action rpg's.

Yeah. Dragon Age 1 was pretty freeform and meant to be action oriented, but because you had to control everyone to get things done it required constant pausing. I think for DA that changed in DA2 when they made the companions do their own thing while you just focused on your own abilities.

DAO was never suppose to be action orientated. It was marketed as a classical old school RPG. In fact called the spiritual successor to Baldur's gate by BioWare themselves.
Yes sadly that changed with DA2.

I'm not normally a graphics kinda guy, but this game looks awful
How can a cinematic trailer for an upcoming game look so 2015?

The graphics legit look identical to Dragon Age Inquisition

Noticed that too with the new trailer. Definitely does not look like a 2024 game. If the game is good I suppose it won't matter too much but I am skeptical after the last two Bioware games.

I mean, I've finished DA:I 3 times.
Love it. The sense of epicness, the intrigue and how you are not Inquisitor in name only, but your actions turn the tide to everything is masterclass
From small things like sitting on the throne and deciding the fate of defeated enemies to royal banquets where everyone scrambles to meet the famed Inquisitor, just brilliant.

The fighting is not spectacular, sure, but it was a means to get you to the next point of feeling like a real ruler

If they can have that same sense of power, leadership and courtly intrigue, I'm all for it, no matter how it looks

Still looks bad though

I hope your char can finally talk this time. Was my only gripe with the series...

But your character can talk since DA2 though

Your character talks in DA2 and DA:I

It's literally just the first game that your character is mute...
Yeah I must have been on something when I posted that. Weird thing is I played Inquisition again just a few months ago and can't recall him speaking...

They claim they have done lots of testing and added lots of graphical features. The trailers don't seem to reflect that. We will see soon enough:

The PC specs on the steam page is very low. They don't mention ray tracing requirements but recommended is only a ryzen 3700x and rtx 2070.

Because the thing that the Dragon Age universe was missing was scars from cosmetic surgery.

You know, it is perfectly logical for people to want highly invasive cosmetic surgeries done to them in a society that has primitive anaesthetics.
Meh that stuff doesn't bother me in the slightest. It's all totally optional, you can just ignore those scars and not create a character with it if you don't like it.

Baldur's Gate 3 had the same stuff, I just ignored it all and created a character I liked. Not a big deal, one of the best games ever made regardless.

Also watched some gameplay on YouTube last night. Game looks very good.
Keen to play it. Thank goodness COD is on gamepass. Can get away with buying this.

I don't know about this game, I think because it was meant to be an mmorpg like wow and then changed direction the characters look cartoons (easier to render).

The gameplay looks like a mobile game where you just mash buttons.

Trying to be positive but they are making it hard will wait for normal people reviews.
