These are entirely optional, why are you bothered by something that is optional?I must have missed the mastectomy scars, fauxnouns,
Why would I waste my time on something that EA/Bioware knew themselves would not go down well with fans of the series to the point of manipulating the early reviews? That alone is a red flag.Have you played the full game? How often does it come up?
So you are saying that Bioware put this in, knowing that it would upset people and tank their sales? Because it clearly hasn't done that...Why would I waste my time on something that EA/Bioware knew themselves would not go down well with fans of the series to the point of manipulating the early reviews?
Except that the preachy thing that you are so enraged about seems to be a very tiny part of the overall experience, are you that outraged by it that a few screens will turn you off a game completely?Secondly the post-launch reviews have called it middling at best.
Add to that the fact that what is already been shown by critics points to be some horrendous writing overall (before you even get to the preachy/political messaging)
God forbid developers offer more options to reflect other people's lifestyles...I sunk countless hours into Origins and Inquisition and I can already tell from what has been shown is on another level compared to the LGBTQ "friendly" options of the previous games.
Weird, plenty of people say they are enjoying the game. Most long games have will have at least one or two examples of bad writingI'm simply not interested in supporting the types of low effort, politically charged, uninspired, dumbed down modern games that are killing the industry.
No, I'm saying that EA/Bioware knew that after 10 years of development and with the hindsight of recent AAA games being undone by push back from gamers that they would need to control the narrative at launch, hence the well reported on review copy controversy. So you are saying that Bioware put this in, knowing that it would upset people and tank their sales? Because it clearly hasn't done that...
Well, enraged is a strong word. I prefer apathetic towards the game itself and mildly concerned about where gaming in general is headed.Except that the preachy thing that you are so enraged about seems to be a very tiny part of the overall experience, are you that outraged by it that a few screens will turn you off a game completely?
God forbid developers offer more options to reflect other people's lifestyles...
I never said there wasn't an audience for complete drek. People have been shoveling the latest Marvel movies into the eyes/brains for decades now, which is proof alone that consumers will consume....to a point.Weird, plenty of people say they are enjoying the game. Most long games have will have at least one or two examples of bad writing
Apparently, you think game companies are more interested in politics than making money.
The game as a whole is underperforming based on the metrics that have been shown to date (e.g. Steam concurrent players) versus expected hype around such a massive franchise in development for 10 years.End of the day, most people don't give a sh*t about LGBTQ options in a game and will play it regardless. It's a vocal minority who scream about this and not buy the game but at the end of the day, there aren't that many of you out there.
Um...The game as a whole is underperforming based on the metrics that have been shown to date (e.g. Steam concurrent players) versus expected hype around such a massive franchise in development for 10 years.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Breaks Steam Records for a BioWare and EA Single Player Game
Dragon Age: The Veilguard launched only a few hours ago, but in this short timeframe, the game has already managed to break some Steam records. Firstly, it has reached a concurrent player peak record for a BioWare game with 70.K players. The previous best was Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which launched in May 2021 and included the full remastered trilogy of the sci-fi franchise; its Steam peak was 59.8K concurrent players.

How many concurrent players should they have had in order to meet expectations?
80 000 x $60 still damn low if they wanna hit that $250 mill cost price.
Hope consoles did a lot better.
Bro, CCU is not the sales figure, it's concurrent users.
Just take this example:
Helldivers 2 Steam CCU (max): 450k
Total Sales (as of June 2024): 12 million
You cannot accurately assume sales from CCU counts, games also continuously sell...
Yup, who made it?Errr...Star Wars Jedi Survivor released 1.5 years ago lol
Yup, who made it?
It states: Bioware + EA + Singe player

Steam Developer: BioWare EA
Creating worlds of adventure, conflict and companionship that inspire you to become the hero of your story.store.steampowered.com
Yup, they only need to sell 417k copies at $60You cannot accurately assume sales from CCU counts, games also continuously sell and for a game like this it's possible to only 'eventually' make money...
Which is just a bunch of old games.
