I do think it’s great that people can play with a character they identify as, not going to affect me in anyway.

However, if the combat/gameplay isn’t incredible, I’d rather not be fed stereotypical (which is probably lost on the writers) tropes like the scene above

Because when they do they always tend to overdo it at the expense of their actual customer base: straight men. Same thing with shows, and then they act all surprised and wonder why it completely failed.

I can wait hehe. Factorio Space Age is still going to keep me busy for a long time, and there's CoD 6 free on GamePass which I'll at least play the single player of.
 
Just enjoy the game players. Tis a fantasy make believe game, and the single best place for gender stuff.
When / If you think its too much, just play some Space Marine as a palate cleanse.

Started playing last night and am only a few hours in, but so far it's been pretty good. Playing on a Series X and haven't had any issues so far.

The original writers are gone. This is you paying good money to sit through a corporate diversity and inclusivity scheme "re-educating" you on how to interact with this batshit sacred caste while you convince yourself it's what you want because it doesn't "affect" you and because you like the familiar, nostalgic wrapping.

I couldn't fathom paying for this and cheering on more of the same in future games. If this is the new "normal" then it spells the death of my interest in gaming.

It's like paying for junk mail and religious leaflets to keep littering your home/personal space. Yuck.

Part of, not centered around. There is a massive difference between have LGBTQ considerations in a game and actively being preached at.

...and that's not even touching on compromised overall storytelling due to hiring practices that place ideology over talent.

If you enjoy all of that in your game, more power to you, but most people find it off-putting. Not because of some -ism or -ist label that you're likely quick to assign, but rather because they are sick of being bombarded with it in real life and don't need it in their escapism.

Women and gay people who were originally supportive of these people have now seen through their agenda and are starting to distance themselves from it. It's nothing more than attempting to piggyback off the hard fought for rights of gay people.

By forcefully including themselves as a LGBTQI+ grouping, they can claim that any anger directed towards them is also aimed at gay people to try and gain support from the gay community. This is not the case because most people have actually come to accept gay people.

This schit will only only stop when LGB starts speaking out against the mentally ill TQI+...

The religious comparison is pretty apt here.

Like certain religious groups they believe they are perpetually oppressed and will walk through burning coals to try prove it.

They also believe they speak from a position of moral superiority and can leave no room for other views. Any contrary opinions are heretical.

Finally, like religion, they are hell bent on spreading "the good word" whether you like it or not, through whatever means they deem appropriate.

Gaming is just another front in their little culture war. As long as they see "representation" they think they are winning no matter what is lost in the battle.

You must have also have missed that all those are optional. Just like previous controversial options, no one is forcing you to use an option you dislike.
If they are trying to reprogram they are doing a bad job

Its not centered. Its hardly mentioned at all.

20 hours in and only been mentioned once if you use the mirror. It also then made very clear which option would lead to that content.
