Dragon Age

My rogue is the business, loving the class. Im just finding normal abit too easy.
The blood spatter is abit silly thou. Kill a rat and ur whole party is drenched
You like look like you just got owned in paintball by team red :P

+1 - I lol'd hard at this :D

I'm also enjoying this. I just wish it was a little more complex. The character development options are a little simple.

Yea the blood splatter is silly, you can turn it off in the settings [something about "persistent gore" ] . This turns off just the whole blood "mesh" you get across your entire party every fight. It looks even sillier if you enter certain dialog sequences and the team is covered in blood from head to toe, front and back...after killing something really small ;).

This game is awsome. I have been playing for far to many hours :D

Just a quick question, if the your character doesn't talk why does it have different voice options when you create a character?

Am I just missing something :)

Anyway I think it will be a while until I complete it

Your toon speaks when you give him a command -move/attack/loot etc

Those are combat voice. Like the "battle shouts" while in combat or sounds he makes when getting hit/dying/critical hits etc etc. So i guess technically your character DOES talk, just not during dialog sequences :).

Mass Effect in contrast had this whole mini movie sequences where your character would talk. I don't recall your character having voice in all the dialogs either though, only in the main plot sequences ?

Finshed it in just over a week with my mage ( Arcane Warrior omg *fap fap* )

thinking of trying a dw0rf warrior next :P

I am on my second playthrough as a rogue on nightmare. Fisrt playthrough as a mage took me over 75 hours on hard. Storywise, its better than most RPGs thesedays but too much cliche imo and not many story twists. Warden's keep and Redcliff quests were a bit of a disappointment after so much hype. Overall, one the best RPG since Kotor and VTM.

I'm playing as a cunning rogue with all my other characters set up to mass paralyze so that I get permanent backstab. Try it ;)

im not a fan of the genre but i tried it out nontheless and it's not too bad.

what really irks me bout this game is the camera controls... i spend half the time trying to get the stupid camera at a comfortable viewing angle.

Is anyone else finding that the game starts dragging a bit once you reach the dwarven lands? Lots of dungeon crawls fighting tons of the same low XP enemies?

I'm still in Lothering and to tell you the truth I really wouldn't mind some areas with loads of monsters to level up quickly. For instance, in Lothering I spent around 2-3 hours walking around talking to everyone and maybe total 10 mins fighting out of that. Sometimes I just want to get into the fight rather than listen to conversation after conversation.

Yep, you level up slowly in Dragon Age. It's one area of the design that lets the game down a bit. 80 hours in and I'm level 18. Then when you level up you don't get many options. I prefer D&D to this system.
