That said, and I need read the fine print, I suspect that insurance will try to repudiate based on an expired DL.

Who the hell needs that fight.

Not that I've seen or heard either, the DL hasn't expired, just the little card has. Until the law changes the only places who seem to moan are rental agencies.

Im part of the solution. If the government stopped stealing and paid these poor people a real salary they wont need bribes to feed their families. Im assisting poor families get food on the table

reminds me of the private ANC jet for the president, where they wanted a new one so soon after buying one.
 
Anyone know how long it takes for a drivers licenece after booking ? Went about 8 weeks ago and never got an sms not the question is do I gamble and hope my is ready for collection or wait another 4 - 6 weeks ?

Why, you didn't lose the original one, a temporary license is only there if you've lost the original. But that is not explained to people either.

You won't get a fine, there is no law against driving with an expired card.

I've also had people I know drive around with ones that expired over 10 years ago, the only person who complained was a rental agency. Also honestly in my entire 23 years of driving, I've been pulled over 3 times.

it's not misinformation, there is no law against it the only person spreading misinformation is you and the government. Why the hell do you think they kept extending the deadlines during lockdowns? Cause they were being nice? No because they realised there was no valid foot to stand on.
