I went to renew on the 4th of May as mine expires on the 18th of June - still waiting. The sms for status number returns with a message to contact the place of application.

It takes at least 8 weeks now so you'll probably have to wait until early July if all goes to plan.

Well the receipt will have to suffice then as there is no fscking ways I'm going to get a temp licence. I went with plenty of time to spare.

Just keep the receipt and proof of payment with you, the cops will let you go when shown that you really applied for a new licence and have the proof of that.

I did not do a temp licence, it just is another money-making scheme.
