Druid tanking.

I really had fun last couple of days with druid tanking got full furious pvp set and its very decent compared to tier 9 all my items are above item level 232.Also got the epic hilt to drop and got myself the mace.

Been running thru heroics very fast and pulling 8-15 mobs even at a time with no problem till last night hall of reflection got me down I just could not get agro fast enough.Even had the whole party standing in the corner before the waves come by the time i get rage the healer or 1 dpser is dead.

This made me give up on my druid going back to leveling my pala tank its just so easy with him.

Had an epic noob moment last night on my pala thought my spell levels upgrade automatically when I buy them from trainer. But all of my spells were like way outdated like i was using a level 3 spell when I had level 8 available even my buffs were crap but we still made it without a lot of effort all bosses in UK.

Only noticed when this one dude with his addon joined for next run almost every thing I did said I was using way outdated spell.
 
I am not sure but I think that happens to spells after you duel-spec and then go and train. Then you have to drag them to your bar again.
 
Make sure you have sufficient rage with your druid before trying to gain aggro (Especially in HoR). Warriors and druids aren't instant takes like DK's and paladins. So try to save at least some rage during the previous encounter.

The paladin problem. No idea, haven't had this problem before, try looking for builds somewhere. Might help you.

This is correct. If you level in Ret and train all your spells your action bars get upgraded with the new level spells. However your other spec (eg prot) action bars dont get updated. So when you change to your duel spec and it loads the other set of action bars those will still refer to the old level spells even though you've got the highest level trained.

Simply just go to spell book and drag new level spells to actionbar. Only applies to spells that has levels. Just check in spell book if it shows level of a spell and check those to actionbar.

Very annoying, but once you hit 80 it's not a problem any more. (probably why blizz is'nt fixing it)
 
That addon is bugged. I also get this spam,at lvl 80, and the spells on my action bar are definatly the latest rank.
 
You could just make all your buttons macros like "/cast wrath" then it will always be the highest rank of the spell that you know.
 
wait wait wait.! If your tanking in pvp gear does that mean your tanking in pvp spec 2 ?
 
not really in tbc i use to tank on my druid in pvp gear in heroics and everything fine in pve spec should be same with wotlk i think
 
erm druid tank = stamina agi armour so if pvp gear has lost of those yes them be fine for pve the pvp spec not so much
 
A druid can tank in pvp gear pretty easily - the only thing to remember is you lose a lot of agility & other stats for resilience which doesn't benefit you so its not ideal. Personally I haven't had any issues with rage tanking in heroics - you have to occasionally conserve a little towards the end of a pull and sometimes you need to power shift and/or hit enrage but its seldom an issue for me. What does help me though is I usually swap out actual tanking gear for dps gear. It means with stam trinkets/buffs I only run at about 40k hp buffed but thats more then enough for all the heroics and literally it just takes 1 swipe to aggro on anything.
 
resilience does help to make you crit immune, but it doesnt give you dodge and parry as def does, which is why def is better. I dont have experience tank with a druid, only a warrior, so I dont know what the impact would be. I would imagine it isnt that different. I have used resilience when I dinged 80 and my def wasnt quite there. I offtanked in Naxx with this. It was rough going though as warriors need the dodge and parry. Btw, can druids parry in bear form ??
 
Druids are completely crit immune from talents now (since WOTLK) except for a few fights where you get debuffs that deduct from your defense.
 
And there's no defence on leather gear that I can recall any more, though I've not played in a few months & my memory could be off.
 
basicly if your spec is wrong your gonna struggle to tank as a teddy

I feel your pain. I can't quite get control of those waves yet myself. Even burning Challenging Roar doesn't last long enough to keep everyone alive. Admittedly, I'm trying to tank for a group that do outgear me, but I can handle it all most of the time... except HoR...
 
Yes. How do you generate threat if you're not hitting your target? I don't recall any +hit talents in the Feral tree though. I do remember you can get 10 expertise from talents, but I'm not sure if it's used in tanking specs.

And if you don't have the talent that makes you uncrittable while tanking, then you're an idiot and deserve to be crushed. It also adds 33% armor from your leather gear, so there is no way you cna tank without the talent.
The only place druids gets +defense is from amulets, rings, trinkets and cloak. It's not as useful to druids, since they can't parry, only dodge.
 
Ran daily just now with a druid tank doing over 7K dps on trash. I was unloading like crazy and i could not pulll aggro no matter what. Just barely managed to pass him on dps overall at the end of the run, him 2nd.

I'm not sure how they do it but some druid tanks just somehow manage to do insane dps and threat.

Swipe is very OP!

I get constant 4k+ crits as I have 57% crit in cat form. Swipe = 4 targets of 4k+ each that is 16k damage in less than a second. Dono what it's like in bear form though :o
