so this is my problem i have a DSL-2750u that drops connection every now and then (there is no pattern) except for every morning i need to restart it because there is no connection.

Every time it drops connection i restart it and the connection comes back, but every time there is a new IP. This is defiantly the routers problem because my older router when i plug it in it works perfectly.

Please help

what IP address are you talking about? Your PC's IP address / router's LAN / router's WAN?

Lastly, make sure that you didn't mark the "dial on demand" option, which should be be somewhere in the WAN configuration page. this option would let the router disconnect your ISP account whenever your connection is idling.

This isn't so much a fix for your router problems, just a general heads up. Posting a question and then replying 10-20 minutes later with more "please help" posts, is not how you get help on this (or any) forum.

Now for your router problem - you mentioned that you tried using another router, have you left the old router plugged in for a while (e.g. overnight, to see if the connection is still live in the morning)?

You may want to check the firmware version of the "faulty" router. Maybe there is a "bug" in your version.

Otherwise you may want to check up on your line itself, as mentioned in another post on the forum - some routers have greater tolerance for errors on the line. Post can be found here:

the new router changes my internet ip and my ipv4 as well.

i have left the other router plugged overnight and it works perfectally the firmware is the latest version.

Obviously it's Internet IP address will change when you reboot it, because you don't have an ISP account with a static IP address!

Please check that "dial on demand" setting that I mentioned, because if you have that option enabled, your ADSL modem will disconnect its Internet connection after a while when it is not in use.
