After Saturdays huge storm it seemed as though my PVR decoder was "reset" back to default for some reason. I had to re-setup the TV link for the 2nd TV and 2nd TV now doesn’t seem to work. TV works perfectly fine on the 1st TV.
The eye has a red light on, the TV is even receiving a picture, but the remote just won’t work, can't change channels or anything. I have tried another remote and no luck. Could the PVR be fried?

try reset the PVR, I usually get the same issue,

Rebooted it several times, disabled and enable the TV link, still no luck. My father in law even took it into Multichoice today, he said the women did "something" and said it will work now, and nothing....Still can't use the remote on the 2nd TV.

Are you sure the remote mode itself is set to the right TV ie TV1 or TV2? Especially if you did a reset?

Well I have gone through all the modes on the remote ie: 1a, 1b, 2a 2b etc and none of them work.

If you hold down the "OK" button and the number "2" button on the controller at the same time for a second, the LED will flash 3 or 4 times on the controller, its a kind of reset, sometimes my controller does not respond and this has sorted it out.

Thanks, I will try that!

Well the weirdest thing happened - got a new TV eye which was plugged in and solved the problem for about 20 mins and then stopped working, now back to square one. WTF is going on. Wish I knew. Multichoice say the decoder is fine.

I know of this problem and have a solution - follow it exactly and you will be able to get back to your viewing pleasure in no time!

1) try standing up and walking to the decoder.
2) push the ">" button.
3) walk to seat backwards while deciding if worth watching.
4) sit, if you haven't decided yet.
5) if not pleased with channel, refer to step 1.

let me guess a highly specialized Multi-choice technician told you this trick?

Yes, thanx.

hhhmmmm...

< TCP/IP Error #43: User not responding > Socket SEND opperation failed.

Try both remotes on the TV1 channel directly at the decoder on 1A.
If 1 of the remotes dont work, the remote is the problem, try changing batteries.
If you have a booster or set back amplifier, some problem of the power or voltage thats doing the boosting messes up the eye.

I live in a sort of flat, had to buy a remote blaster which works almost perfectly.

Any tips or tricks for resetting a non pvr 1131 decoder remote?

Is only like 4 months old - gets little use - Changed batteries.
Red lite on top of decoder(TV1) flashes when the button is pressed but nothing happens on the decoder end.
Have reset decoder - tries the ok + no2 button deal mentioned above but still nothing from remote.
Done the "shift" + "exit" & back to switch it from TV1 to TV2 & back - nothing differant.
Any ideas folks?

EDIT: - Why is it just when you ask for help you find the solution?
remove power plug count to 30 & reconnect
