Then everyone is gonna take the HD and not the premium package which will be bad for business for DSTV. It would be much cheaper though unless they really intend on screwing their subscribers over with high sub prices.

I cancelled this month and confirmed by telephone that it was indeed cancelled (debit order as well), but now we are still able to view all the channels!!!???
Anybody else this happened to?????
I had the same experience. I suspect it might be the decoder. I was using an old DSD 720i. It eventually disconnected exactly on the last day of the month.
What decoder are (were) you using?
No ways Im cancelling my DSTV. Some of the programs![]()

. Only things decent I've watched is Cops and Dateline.
So seems dstv has a new way of getting every last cent out of u....
In the past you would call them to put it off and it would be off before you put the phone down. now they cant put if off immediately apparently because 'you've paid till the end of the month' so the reason some of yours and mine only will go off at the end of the month is because they want to make sure they dont need to refund anyone.... basically, comes down to TopTV does pro-rata, dstv doesnt...
But mine is cancelled and apparently will switch off at end of month...
Yep I tried to cancel yesterday and actually felt sorry for the lady at monochoice when sge gasped as I said Im moving to TTV, then that quickly evaporated as she told me I would not be eligeable for my outstanding R16x to be refunded as they now had a 30 day notice period which had to be serviced with the remaining funds!! Well, she DID offer to keep me reconnected for the remaining period so I *should* be grateful lol... stuff em, Im not going back!!

I called DSTV up to ask about upgrading/downgrading T&C's.
They say if you're on e.g. Easyview you can upgrade for e.g. 3 days and then downgrade again without any connection/downgrade fees and you will only pay prorata. However, if you now after 4 days call again to upgrade, they will upgrade you at no charge but you must stay on the upgraded package till the end of your billing cycle.
If you were completely disconnected at there is a connection fee.
