I reckon a lot of ME programming is going to end up on Showmax as the company behind a lot of their overseas content is now in partnership with MC with Showmax. So it seems legit to me. This is probably the beginning of the end of DStv.

I found another link talking about 1Magic closure a week ago.

Me is basically a repeats channel showing stuff that were on Mnet already. Totally useless.
 
TVSA gave a couple of theories on the matter I mean could it be possible the cancellation could lead to a bigger surprise perhaps the cancellation of Compact+ seeing as most channels are on lower packages or a restructure. 1Magic was basically M-Net's BET and I don't see anyone subscribing there anymore if the content is on Mzansi Magic.

I did write a story about Me and if rumours are true about a replacement channel then I can imagine that they're merging the content with 1Magic making it more independent. I do remember M-Net once offloading shows onto VUZU and M-Net City so premium customers would have been lost out on final seasons to certain shows.

1Magic is airing 1802 6 days a week imagine a local program getting that much exposure initially it was airing for only 3 days and Me was scheduled to air new seasons of The Good Doctor and Kitchen Rules SA but put other shows in place and they are airing various shows like Wipeout and Home Economics 8 times in 2 days.
 
I trust Thinus with my SA TV news, and he has yet to confirm this.

I had spoken to him, MultiChoice doesn't confirm or deny it if it were false they would have said something already. He has a story already done just waiting on MultiChoice to give the greenlight it's weird how Southern Africa is slow with distributing such info. I usually get my news from their services in ROA oh well

If so you still listen to too many rumours, but this time you're right.
Best sources other than MC themselves - Thinus' Blogspot or an announcement on the EPG (guide) which is now happening for both chs.

It's a blessing and a curse, there's more details I couldn’t disclose on there I hope to do so soon.
 
I see yet another channel is closing at the end of March.

Channel 127 Ginx esports tv. Pretty pissed about this one because as a gamer I watch it when I have nothing else to do even though it has a lot of repeats and annoying presenters.

Knew they would take it away eventually but still. Now there will be nothing game related on dstv anymore.
