DStv to cut channel

DStv customers will be unable to access the Islamic community channel iTV (channel 347) from 17 June 2022.

The MultiChoice-owned broadcaster announced it would be dropping the channel based on a review process it undertakes to ensure the quality of the local and international content it screens for its customers.

All I get from this is that ETV is a serial moaner.

Wait for that abramjee guy to get wind of this. He'll get people to complain and presto! That channel wont get dropped.

Dstv is cutting down channels as they wish without consultation and the monthly price remains the same.
As it is there is nothing that's worth watching apart from the soapies imported from Turkey cheaply which are dubbed in either Afrikaans or English, this in itself is a curse because the titles disappear before you can read them and you miss out on the action.

Hopefully, some other entities will take over to give us something worth watching, not what Dstv is dishing out.
Many of the movies are old as the hills, its repetitive.

Soon: Islamic customers drop DStv

Not really, I'm pretty sure it was because of low viewership from the Muslim community.

If something like radio Al-Ansaar which has a big viewership had to be removed by SABC, there would be outrage.

Pretty sure iTV is one of the few channels my in-laws watch all the time (They are old-school muslim)
