DStv dropping four E-tv channels

You can get all the etv channels on digital terrestrial tv- all you need is a digital antenna for your tv with built in dtt t2 decoder
 
Didn't they drop KIX before and now it's coming back as a supposedly new channel?

Which is really odd as the only place they are expanding is their lower tier customers. Those who have traditionally subsidised the service are getting less and less value and moving away from it. They have entirely the wrong business model.
 
DSTV prices going up while value offering is being reduced.. again!

This year's April Fools joke by MonoChoice must have given a few members of the E-tv management some heart palpitations ...
 
Did they ok this with Icasa since it is in the public's interest to know the reasons for the decision.?

You're correct, I wonder if the DStv price/payments will decrease as they reduce channels that we pay for monthly.
 
I really dont care what dstv is doing. They are not worth watching. The popular series are 2 to 3 seasons behind the rest of the world. Most movies are re-runs. All other programs are repeats of old rubbish.
 
I was about to get DStv installed for my holiday place and do glad I have not. I was only looking at the basic package until I can install fibre later this year.

Will just cast Netflix downloads from my phone and spend my money on a descent Chromecast.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, one of the few ****ing channels that I enjoyed on DStv!

They remove eExtra but not Comedy Central (which legit runs the same episodes of shows a minimum of two times a day) and the like, maar ja. /sighs

P.S I hope eExtra is part of eVOD, say what you will about Indian telenovelas but sometimes their nonsensical setups are just what you need for boredom (as well as the odd English to keep things interested) and the Turkish shows are actually pretty ****ing good ngl.
