DStv explains repeats

Yes and on the HDTV channel, which you can only watch if you have the HD PVR, that can record two channels whilst you watch a third, they repeat the previous nights movies the next morning,

I see that onre of their startup movies DieHard 4 was showing last night again.

Whilst i agree that programs should be repeated on this channel to give new startups a chance to catch up, to repeat them the next day on a PVR is simply ridiculous!

Or is it because there software is so buggy that they cannot guarantee anything?

thats what u get when there r no alternatives. they figure u must just go back 2 watching sabc 1/2/3/e or shut up. another telkom in my eyes!

bbc prime is no more, its BBC Entertainment now. many new content
I don't watch movies allot on dstv, I watch the doccy channels and some rugby
my pvr is constantly full, dstv has lots of content. dont just get stuck on one channel.
if it wasn't for repeats I would have a hard time watching all the stuff I want.

Ja different content, but the interruptions to advertise other programs have reached ridiculous levels....they cut in randomly and then go on forever... bring back the old BBC Prime !!!

If you try and take up problems with DSTV, they just blame the individual channel and say it comes from Romania (Nat Geo) so they aren't responsible.

i don't think bbcp exists anymore

Wait wait did u hear about that "NEW" show starting saterday yes its brand "NEW".... F!@K I watched that episode/sesion in 2007 and we are already in 2008 WTF is up with that "NEW" ***** all the time when its not new.

South Africans are more intolerant than most regarding movie and content repeats according to research done by DStv.

Convenient, and according to Telkom South Africans have dirt cheap bandwidth with world class service.

DStv on average repeats a movie 10 times, a TV series 4 to 6 times and documentaries 6 times.

Then I guess the extra 5 times I've seen them re-run over the years was just a dream/nightmare.

Well perhaps they could start showing more international and independant films as well. That would certainly help fill more hours and cut down on the number of repeats. And as an added bonus, they'd be cheaper than the direct to DVD crap DSTV is buying from Hollywood studios.

why are you all only watching movies and sports:confused:
there is so much more to watch
widen your viewing habits

Movie licenses, which are set by the movie industry, determine how many times a movie must be repeated and in what time frame.

So, for example, Hollywood studios actually tell Multichoice they must repeat a movie 8 times during a 30 day period?

I loved BET, but the channel was not screened live, it was like they recorded and played it for us. And it couldnt catch up, so they removed it. And now its TRACE, MTV, MTVbase, Vh1, Gospel one, Mk1and Channel 0 all boring. . . If it wasnt 4 soccer i would have cancelled my dstv. And im running it on compact. That way i could save my eyes from those repeats.

 having DSTV Compact is like being glad you have ball cancer instead of brain cancer ........

they not telling the whole truth besides they here to make money not friends
