DStv limiting concurrent streams from March 2022

Maybe the real issue is that bandwidth to their servers is maxing out (or servers can't handle the number of connections) and they don't want to pay for more of either. Solution, limit the number of connections.

Now they're going to have less income and will have to cut back on their bandwidth.

Stalemate.

I stream DSTV to my TV in my braai room, my wife watches DSTV exclusively on her cellphone.
I am a legitimate user of the service and now I am the one that will not be able to use the service I pay a lot of money for each month.

Thats Africa, and Monochoice, sucks, but yeah ...

South Aftican companies of late, have a great lack of appreciation, of something called "Good will " it is an intangible item that you can go very far with, and with out, you are always and forever fighting the handbrake, slowing you down.

The bastards - they had that DSTV Walka gizmo that one could use for that purpose then they discontinued that in favour of streaming (leaving those who out the device with a useless paperweight) - now they're limiting streaming....

I still have my Walka. Tempted to disassemble and reverse engineer it :sneaky:

All it needs is a digital broadcast signal. They stopped broadcasting a signal it could pick up.

Now that they are going to digital broadcasting it might pick up some random stations.

DSTV propably had some form of encryption on their channel

Dstv will now face even more cancelations of their premier service! They just buried themselves 6 foot under..... R. I. P

Please post a list of streaming services for EPL games {Paid and non Paid streaming services} Thanks tech boffins

Showmax Pro worked perfectly to watch United struggle against a poor Watford side just now. R455/month. Seems to have all the Premier league games.

So how much does DSTV pay you?
LOL why would they pay me, I have said here before that I cancelled about 2 years ago after more than 25 years. Just because we did not watch sport that much anymore.
The problem is, everyone come here with these great alternatives, but nobody is honest about what you actually get. You will see the IPTV guys, but a quick search will let you know it is constant problems, buffering etc. Many suggest subscriptions and is quick to say SPORT, but what sport?

DSTV give you
Basically all the important rugby, local, international. 7's, you name it, they show it.
Soccer, yes everything you would want
Cricket. yes everything you would want
Olympics yes full coverage
F1
MotoGP
Athletics everything important
Golf, Tennis everything important
WWE?
UFC and most big Boxing matches
Dakar
Tour de France
Superbowl

This is just a bit of the sport part, not even the rest.
I would like someone to give us a price what it will cost to stream just the above legally through other means that are problem free, then we can compare apples with apples. If IPTV was so great, everyone would use it, just do a google search.

Yes everyone does not watch all that sport, I for one would just like the rugby, F1, MotoGP, Dakar, Tour de France and Olympics. So what would just that cost to stream? Then again the wife like cricket and Tennis, so must add that, maybe something else for other in the family.
OOOh I forgot, DSTV has everything.

What they offer is well priced. The few things my family watched was not worth it anymore. Still nothing wrong with their price for what they offer.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good whine!

The people whining the most are mostly also the ones not subscribing to DSTV. And the ones that "care" the least are posting the most!

I know you mentioned it briefly but some folks don't understand how much better the current ESPN offering alone is. The previous version of ESPN didn't come anywhere near this current iteration. Nothing like an MLB game during CAT primetime.
