DStv limiting concurrent streams from March 2022

I think they will be losing more than what they are going to gain. There are people that subscribed to DSTV and shared the login with their children (that I know of) which made it more affordable and could be justified.

Bu pulling this move, I think they are going to lose a lot more customers and gain very few.

Yes, chase away more customers, make yourselves even more irrelevant.

I don't see the problem - at least this approach is logical. You pay one sub, you watch one stream. Hopefully, it means that the silly device limit goes away.

It's a huge problem for households with more than 1 TV. In my house we use DSTV Now on 3 different TV's. Even 2 simultaneous streams is too little, but this is now ridiculous. If they are going to limit it, the least they could do is limit it by IP address. That would make more sense.

With Netflix we can run 4x at the same time. So take a family of 4, kids can watch what they want, and husband and wife can watch what they want.

With DSTV, people will have to take turns at 5x the price or more. I lost count how much now. Oh and then there are ads and other crap too.

Netflix got clever. And they simply monitor that most are generally connecting to the same wifi network now and then, and not using a different IP completely all the time. They can track this with viewer habits too.

Lol yet you can have multiple profiles. DStv is just farting in a thunderstorm.

Im amazed SA Sport havent created their own channels, like Disney+, Hulu, Netflix etc.

They could made Shiploads of money more than what DSTV is giving them. Imagine getting all the advertising revenue and viewing revenue online too.

Knew this was coming, lmao.........was just too easy for multiple parties to watch, they were losing out.

This is a big problem.

If you a rugby and cricket fan for example and want to watch the six nations and say a cricket even you need 2 x accounts now. That is R829 x 2 just because you want to watch 2 sport events at the same time.

I usually watch my main sport even on the tv and then have my laptop open on the side with the second sport even I'm following. This is no longer possible unless I fork out more cash. It feels like a money grab by DSTV.
