Um... you pay a lot of money and get about one episode a week.... that is called soddomy mate.
 
The Nokia N8 supports DVB-H and also has HDMI out, so you could hook it up to your tv i suppose, but then there's all that copy protection and things that might be a problem, also the resolution would probably be quite low i assume since it is aimed at mobile devices.
 
To date we have already invested some R300 million in experimentation on mobile broadcast technology and network infrastructure.

I think it is not going to be that cheap, they will need to recoup the money they have spent already.
 
I hope I'll be able to watch it on my 3310. Don't see myself buying a device to watch any monochoice programmes.
 
I read somewhere that mobile tv looks better if you're corked-eye :erm:
 
Still think they should focus on DSTV Stagnant before launching DSTV Mobile. Do they re-release mobile TV every year hoping someone will take the bait? I've read half a dozen of these articles. I even recall reading a list of the channels, was it a year ago? They have been waiting 5 years for the license but a week before launch they have no details about content or pricing? Looking forward to reading about this again in 2011 and 2012 and 2013. Geez, even their press releases are repeats. Who even wants this?
 
Apple, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let us purchase material from your iTunes store on our Apple TV's so that we can avoid this kind of mental failure from "providers" here in Africa.

Please.
 
Will it be mobile TV like cellphone or like iPad or laptop "mobile" TV?
 
Way back in 2005 I was one of the 'beta' testers for the Sagem DVB-H DSTV Mobile phone. Although the phone itself was utter carp, I was very impressed with the quality of sound/picture. The only thing I remember considering a dissapointment was that the channels available weren't the actual channels on DSTV, but rather watered down 'mobile' versions of Mnet etc. I was also surprised that the technology never seemed to take off. In early 2007 came a Samsung DVB-H phone, which was even better. But as before, that was the last anyone heard of DVB-H TV phones. The more 'popular' alternative was the Vodaphone Live 3G TV sercice (whatever it was called). Now this was something absolutely horrific in both quality, price and content. It's awsome to see DVB-H making a comeback - hopefully here to stay this time.
 
Hopefully, I can watch favorite shows during my spare time @ work....!
