Installed the app on my Nexus 7 and streamed the Boks rugby test using my Afrihost MiFi device.

Flawless, no buffering and awesome picture quality.

I also streamed a Movie on the app from Mnet Action on my S5 and the quality was amazing. Streamed over MTN LTE and it was buffer free. I am really impressed with the quality actually of the video actually.

The thread on the DStv forum simply states that your device might be Grey/Cheap/Refurbished/etc and not much can be done. Every single person I know whose bought a Minix Neo X8-H cannot use it for DStv Now. Curiously, my Minix Neo X7 which is rooted and custom ROM'ed like there is no tomorrow works like a charm with DStv Now.
