Dstv Now App, Problems on Hisense Smart TV

I was wondering if any one had some advice for me, I recentely got a Hisense Smart TV to watch Netflix etc. NOW my problem is with DSTV Now the TV supports it and came preinstalled, Now my issue/issues are 2 things ANY sport channels do not work that includes all supersport and even the wwe popup channel, The stream starts and after a few seconds it kicks me out to the menu, quality settings do not make a diffrence, and every works fine on my android tv box and phones, Number 2 while streaming, the loading spinner will show up in the middle of the screen, and doesnt go away even though the stream runs perfectly so I have to watch shows with the spinner in the middle of the screen, ANY advice for this , any one have the same problem
 
I bought my Hisense on Friday... Exactly the same issue. Hope someone has a answer. I also noticed that while watching dstv channels the buffering circle would pop up and stay on but video will continue to play

This is what i recieved from hisense it fixed all the issues i was having
The some advice I can give you is to format the USB stick in fat32 format,

Once downloaded, put it on an empty USB stick. Power the TV off. Insert the USB. Power the TV back on. Now navigate to Settings>Support>System>Update via USB.


Also recieved this from hisense aswell its the same file the instructions are wrong thought just copy the file a .bin file to the empty usb stick and follow the rest of the instructions
How do I upgrade software for a smart TV?
The USB 3.0 is colored blue and the USB 2.0 is colored white. When updating, please use the USB 2.0 port colored white.

Make sure the USB is empty with no files or folders in USB.

Unzip the file and only take the software to the USB whose name ends up with .pkg. Don’t change the name of file, don’t put inside a folder, don’t copy the zipped file.

The BEST is to format the USB – FAT32 or FAT16.

Option 1

Switch the TV on, pull the plug off the wall, plug the USB in, press and keep pressing the power button on remote, put plug back into the wall. Make sure the remote is pointed to sensor and is +/- 40CM from TV set.
Option 2

Keep pressing the same button on remote for 5-10 seconds while switching on the TV. It will display “Software Updating” on the screen.
The TV will identify and upgrade the software automatically.
After a successful update the TV will automatically restart.​

The Way I did It was to

1. Copy the file to a usb stick BUT DID NOT PLUG IT INTO THE TV YET

2. Powered on the TV, pulled the plug from the wall to switch off the TV,

3. THEN inserted the usb stick , held the power button on the remote while plugging the TV back into the wall,

it will start up with a screen with a blue block that says LOADING DATA, it takes awhile afterward the TV will restart automatically and you are good to go

I had the same problem but my TV had the latest software already installed. I cleared the cache and everything was sorted. Settings>System>Application Settings>Clear Cache>Clear

Hisense 55a6100 4k uhd.
Last night i was watching dstv now and everything was working 100%. After watching, i switched off the tv and went to bed.
This morning i see my entire home screen has changed to another one and the dstv app is gone now. Also in the app store.
I checked in settings and the tv didnt do a software update overnight. Its still on the exact same version its always been. I attached a picture of what my home menu looks like now.20200121_073248.jpg

How can a menu and an app just disappear overnight??

That is very odd, I would suggest contacting Hisense support to request the firmware(Call them, its way faster and easier than email etc.)
You are going to have to manually update the firmware, You can check above for instructions on how to do that, I would just suggest to request the firmware for your TV from hisense unsure if the firmware i have linked above will work for your model
 
I bought myself a Hisense yesterday the B7100 UHD 4k Dstv now app already installed Enter password everything but doesnt wanna save it It keeps telling me to go to http://dstv and enter the code which it gives me I do all that but it keeps telling me to enter code Any advice please
 
Hi there, Does anyone have firmware update for the 55a6100uw TV? I would really appreciate it.

The work around this is to open the browser. On the browser type hisense://debug
It will open an application installation page
On the application name tab type data now
And on url type http://now.dstv.com
Press install
On the right side it should say installation successful
Exit and press the home button the should now be a dstv now app
It’s not pretty but it should work

Thanks for the tip. I gave it a go and the DSTV page loads up. However I am not able to select the "Sign In" button with my remote. Any chance you had the same issue and know of a way to resolve?

how can i get this file please.
 
Hi guys,

The DSTV App on my Hisense doesn't let me select the streaming quality - when I go to the settings page, it shows the options to select, but I can't actually select one - anyone else have this problem.

I click enter to select the highest quality, but it never puts a tick to show that it's been selected and the quality on the tv when using the DSTV app is shocking
